Merdeka Square is a square located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. Literally Independence Square, it was formerly known as the Selangor Club Padang or simply the "Padang" and was used as the cricket green of the Selangor Club. Wikipedia

As we keep our raw files for safety, managed to have this another shot of the Merdeka Square from the "0" kilometer of Kuala Lumpur during my assigned task in Malaysia. Would not miss having a number of shots of this iconic, British Colonial inspired capital.
Merdeka 118, is a 118-story megastructure skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Merdeka 118 stand 678.9 m (2,227 ft) Compared to the highest building Burj Khalifa at 829.8 m (2,722 ft), Merdeka 118 is the second tallest building.
A mural on the buildings beside the Malacca River. This is about the nation's proclamation of independence ("Merdeka" means "free" or "independent") on the 31st of August 1957 by the country's first Prime Minister, after having been under British rule for some years. Parts of the Malaysian flag can be seen on the walls, and the silhouettes of the 3 soldiers at the top are a depiction of the National Monument in Kuala Lumpur.

The city's newest tall structure is visible from all over town.
At 678.9 metres tall, it is the second tallest building in the world and dwarfs the Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower) which stands to it right here.
