The altered book contains exerts from the 40 years worth of diaries I found in her drawer, love letters, pressed flowers, and other ephemera. The picture is of my mum when she was 18 years old (1943).

Okay, it's time for a die cut "do-over." When something isn't working anymore it needs to be changed. I found an organizational idea on Pinterest, and I tweaked it a bit to work for me. This particular box holds my Memory Box, Poppystamps, Our Daily Bread Designs, Cheery Lynn Designs, and PTI dies thus far. There are:

*14 dividers

*38 cardstock pages

*107 dies

And this box is not full! I still have room to grow! For complete details and more photos, please see my post here:

For this month's Card Chain Challenge. This one went to Lizzy in Australia; I used Deborah's colours - Ivory, olive and cobalt blue. My card base is the ivory, the olive is distress ink sponged over a Tim Holtz stencil. My blue is the butterfly (Memory Box die) and friend die (CAS-ual Fridays SOA) The Winnie & Walters hello is stamped with a Memento dye ink. Lizzy has let me know it has arrived.

Glass-- encased, memory box, my wife Andrea made several years ago, of ephemera in her grandfathers drawer. It sat in there for years & finally she decided to honor him with this--kinda nice-huh?

A couple of things here. At the top are little books made up of miniature prints of Thomas McKnight paintings. My mom gave them to me because she got them when she bought a couple of his prints. I carried them around with me when I traveled because they reminded me of my mom.

Below that: a couple of my mom's headshots The left one was for modeling, and the right one was for acting. I'd put them up by my bed when I was away.

On the left: a news article about my maternal grandpa, and a newspaper photo of my maternal great grandmother. I kept these around because I was convinced either one of them would drop dead at any moment.

My great grandmother did indeed die when I was nineteen, but my g'pa is still alive and kickin'. Well, maybe not "kickin'," but he's alive anyway. And he's outlived several other family members that I hadn't expected to die so soon. :/

Book pages, glass beads, razor shell, wood strips and shattered beach glass.

I fell in love with the large Woodgrain Background stamp by Hero Arts...I recently purchased a die from Memory Box, and I felt they worked together well for this card for me best friend. Love the stuff from Memory Box!! And of course I used my favorite cardstock from PTI (vintage white, raspberry fizz & simply chartreuse). TFL!

I submitted my card the CASology Week 96 - Flower.
