My Halloween cards for 2017

21st birthday box for my fashion designer cousin. contains 21 thimbles amongst other things. handmade from start to finish!

for sss mon challenge witch kraft.

I tried this technique and it is really, really subtle. I didn't think it would be this subtle from Jennifer's video, so I stamped with the same stamp again using picket fence distress stain. That showed up better. Haven't got the stamping with water to work well. I think I like framing scenes this way.

Technique featured by Jennifer McGuire in Kickstart Class Day 5. Some ink bleeding occured when I touched it up. Lesson...Don't touch up. Background and poppies all done in glitter.

Inside the Victorian cash box were three cash bowls, I removed them and made three new bowls from tissue paper mache.

Once the basic bowl was made I manipulated pieces of organza, silk and velvet (some of which had been printed on) onto the outside of the bowl, holding this down with metalic stitches. I also wove dies ostrich feathers into this. I used the back of the stitches, inside the bowl to hold various pieces of ephemera - buttons, shells, stamps, feathers, petals and printed leaves etc - in memory of my mums passion of collecting.

The big "87" is the most recent addition to my box of memories. It was the number they gave to me when I turned in my application at the audition for my school's spring musical. I'm not much of a singer, really. Acting is my strongest.

I sang "Buddy Holly" by Weezer. While I was waiting in line, I changed my mind to countless songs: "The ABC Song," "Starcraft 2 Song" by David Choi, but in the end, I stuck with "Buddy Holly" by Weezer. I mostly went for loud.

This is my last photo of Erik's box.

This week over at CASology the cue is RED. This card is a take on one I made earlier this evening. I used Festive Berries distress ink to stamp the sentiment by Simon Says Stamp and used the fine tip of a Marvy Marker. I used an EK Punch to punch out some red flowers. I added a little white punched circle and a silver gem.

i love kids drawings of people.

I made this card for the Simon Says Challenge, Holiday Fun. I chose Halloween as my Holiday Fun theme, and it happens to be my favorite holiday to celebrate out of the three (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas). I love the Penny Black Cat stamps, they have come up with so many cute images. I was not going to make Halloween cards this year until I saw this stamp set. This kitty is 'Witching you a Spooky Halloween'!

Stamps: Penny Black Spooky! Transparent Set 30-041, Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card Scratches CC044

Embellishments: Memory Box Jewel Stickers Halloween

The altered book contains exerts from the 40 years worth of diaries I found in her drawer, love letters, pressed flowers, and other ephemera. The picture is of my mum when she was 18 years old (1943).

Okay, it's time for a die cut "do-over." When something isn't working anymore it needs to be changed. I found an organizational idea on Pinterest, and I tweaked it a bit to work for me. This particular box holds my Memory Box, Poppystamps, Our Daily Bread Designs, Cheery Lynn Designs, and PTI dies thus far. There are:

*14 dividers

*38 cardstock pages

*107 dies

And this box is not full! I still have room to grow! For complete details and more photos, please see my post here:
