In a world of darkness and hate on every channel you see, it is important to me to do thing just to make us smile. I can have these days with these girls for example. This is my sister in law and their cousin. They came to visit me a few weeks back and we tried on prom dresses and laughed harder than I have laughed in a long time. We can choose to take time and go do silly things and try to make ourselves smile. I can have those memories because sometimes that is all you have left of a person and instead of dwelling on all of the gloom that surrounds us, we have to try to make memories with the people that we love before it is too late. Two people from my graduating class died in a matter of like two months. My heart is broken for them and if anything, I've learning that you have to push yourself outside of the bounds of what the world expects and hope. I can have fun. I can have the smile. I can have joy in the midst of the darkness. Covid seems to be never ending and people are dying every day. and even in that darkness, we can go put pretty gowns on and joke about how mine looks like a wedding dress. I can hope. I can dream. I can live in the now and I can have fun.

I adore this sculpture because you can experience it in two parts, one is a dark, deep black rectangle that captured and amplified the sounds we made. The other was an immense shape, too big for the space, too big to understand and too big to see. And that's the point. Our memory fills in what we can't see so that we think we understand the thing but haven't (and couldn't) see all of it.

After years without actually thinking about u, this afternoon my subcosncience remaind me that you were real. You appear into my dreams like if you were always been there, but what it is funny is that just a few days before today I was trying to find you, but it seems like if u don't what me to be in contact with you. I don't understand why, everything was alright last time I checked. But lately this days the picture of you that it's on my memories has been modified, I can tell you this is because I have this tendence to block bad things about people, and I just save the good ones. I guess this could be great news for you, because all those wonderful details about you are with me, and they'll be forever. So, wherever you are, I wish you are happy, and hope, just hope that you remember me at least as a person who made an episode of your life. It's not like a want you back, not at all, but it will be nice to know you still alive.

The first Collingwood Council Chambers were built in Johnston Street next to the Courthouse in 1860. After Collingwood Town Hall was opened in May 1887, the council offices and Courthouse moved there. These facilities became home to the Working Men's Club until being incorporated into Collingwood Technical School. This photo was part of Collingwood's contribution to Remembering Melbourne.
