Ah, the many memories ^.^ i remember the first day of kindergarten, i was so excited to FINALLY start school, and i could never imagine attending 'high school'. And now, to think, i'll be starting 8th grade in September ,and after 8th grade i'll be a 9th grader, and going into the big high school.

So cherish your childhood, because one day you'll be looking back at your past during graduation, and thinking, "man, it was so great being a kid."

Memories of summer holidays, the sea, friendship...

January is always a time when we look back on the previous year and recall favourite moments. So over the next few posts i will do just that.

Childhood Memory

A fair portion of my Christmas decorations seems to be "art" my kids have created over their elementary school years (with the definite help of their teachers since my kids are as craft-challenged as I am, LOL).

“Your memory is a monster; you forget - it doesn't. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you - and summons them to your recall with a will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you!”

~ John Irving

Time for another fractalius. I'm falling into the habit of more and more SOOC shots, but I still love this style of generated art... it takes what might otherwise be a beautiful shot, but turns it into something more mystical and magical. Thank you RedField !

Ein Auszug aus einem Lied, welches fuer mich zu diesem Foto passt :

Richard Sanderson - Dreams Are My Reality

"Dreams are my reality

The only kind of real fantasy

Illusions are a common thing

I try to live in dreams

It seems as it's meant to be

Dreams are my reality

A different kind of reality

I dream of loving in the night

And loving seems all right

Although it's only fantasy "

Em Tudo quanto Olhei Fiquei em Parte

Tudo que cessa é morte, e a morte é nossa

Se é para nós que cessa. Aquele arbusto

Fenece, e vai com ele

Parte da minha vida.

Em tudo quanto olhei fiquei em parte.

Com tudo quanto vi, se passa, passo,

Nem distingue a memória

Do que vi do que fui.

The sight of this 1963 Mini van brought back memories for me as my brother had a grey 1964 one as his very first 'car'. That would have been around 1967/68 but despite its 'near-newness' it was hardly in good condition and soon featured a hole in the floor where you could view the tarmac at close quarters!

It served us well on early planespotting trips to East Anglia and elsewhere, but if my Dad's Morris Minor was available, we would use that!

I remember once it served as accommodation when we attended the Chivenor Air Day back in 1969. Fortunately, we only had to endure one uncomfortable night as my aunt gave us a warm welcome as we 'unexpectedly' turned up at her spacious house in Somerset on the return journey.

Happy Days!

Whenever we drink a bottle of wine, my wife and I write what we were

doing, thinking or where we were when we opened it. Sometimes mundane,

sometimes monumental, we love to look back on our time together by

perusing the corks as if they were an old box of photos. "Oh, remember

that...?"

The Unisphere, commissioned to celebrate the beginning of the space age, was conceived and constructed as the Theme Symbol of the 1964–1965 New York World's Fair. Today, the Unisphere is one of Queen's most iconic and enduring symbols.

Seeing these fountains turned on is a rare treat! I've been going to Flushing Meadows Corona Park for years and it's not very often that the fountains are up and running. I wish they would be left running all throughout the warmer seasons. It seems that these visitors to the park just can't resist the fountain either!
