Something relaxing about sifting through old photos and digging out some little gems here and there. Love this one of my wife and her cappuccino at a little cafe in Melaka, Malaysia one fine afternoon.
A moment of peace by the Masjid Selat Melaka, also known as the floating mosque because it is built over water.
The Melaka Straits Mosque is known as Malacca's floating mosque as it is built on stilts above the sea.
It was officially opened by Malaysia's King on 24th November 2006. It is constructed with modern Islamic design and craftsmanship. While the main dome is Middle Eastern in appearance, the four corner turrets are topped with typical Malaysian rooflines.

Went to Melaka (aka Malacca) over the weekend with my parents, brother, sister & wife. Over the 2 days that I were there, it was raining. Anyway, when travelling with others, we as photographers can only make the best use of time by shooting photos during the time we were with them. Unlike my trip to Krabi, Thailand, where I dictated my own time.
This mosque was located on a man-made island called Pulau Melaka.

Melaka has a large and old Chinese community from Teochew (潮州), eastern part of Guandong (広東) province.
I had a colleague who came from this part of Melaka, and he told me that he did not understand Bahasa (language) Malaysia until he entered high school.

Melaka Island/Malaysia (Melaka Straits Mosque was inaugurated on 24 November 2006 by the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia (Yang di-Pertuan Agong). The mosque, was built using the mix of Middle Eastern and Malay craftsmanship, looks like a floating structure if the water level is high...)
