"Stanley Kwok, architect and developer, has been a key influence in the shaping of the Vancouver Style and the way we plan our city. From the co-operative planning process that evolved in the 1970s to the megaprojects of the 1990s, Stanley Kwok was there. Whether as designer or decision-maker, the legacy of Stanley Kwok can be seen not just in Vancouver but in the skyline of cities from Halifax to Dubai."

A 2012 proposal was for the West Side Stadium, an 85,000-seat stadium built on a platform directly above the West Side Yard. The New York Jets football team would have been the part owner.

The stadium plan was ditched in favor of the Hudson Yards megaproject - a multipurpose project with retail, cultural, and commercial spaces, along with housing and parks.
