The guys behind Eatfirst and Berlin Brünch have got together for their first collaboration (I mean this literally, neither brand has worked with anyone until now) - around the launch of Eatfirst's new 'brünch menuâ. This will see EatFirstâs Head Chef Benn Hodges and Brünch founder Noemi Dulischewski collaborate on what I can officially verify as a delicious and only partly Germanic range of splendid dishes - and which is only available through May, June and July.
What to expect? Noemi's menu, predictably, focuses more on the German style - think âThe Berlinerâ - a combination of artisan sourdough and bread rolls, fleischsalat, smoked cheeses, sliced cold meats, topless eggs, remoulades and fresh fruit (you might not think that, on paper, that combination works - but you would be wrong...). As for Bennâs stuff - think more âfusionâ - asparagus frittata in béchamel sauce, or fabada beans with slow-roasted wild garlic mushrooms (no, I hadnât heard of Fabada beans either but they turn out to be delicious). Either way, youâre probably going to end up eating something youâve never tried before (at least, I did) - and you might just enjoy it
Tasting Britain profiled EatFirst a few months back and it was great to meet all the guys behind it in person and properly try the food. What you are looking at is a preview event for the new menu, held at the Little Yellow Door, in Notting Hill Gate. As far as event spaces go, this is one of the best I have seenâ¦just look at that decor. I donât even know where to begin. Itâs basically like a flat owned Thereâs a small library behind the bar and a Sega Megadrive on the windowsill. If that doesnât excite you, I donât know what will.

from the Sega MegaDrive / Genesis game; Michael Jackson's moonwalker. I can't figure out how to get past this level with the whores.
Pandora DX box, not really a fan of these emulation devices but the Pandora DX is pretty decent, 3000 games to choose from and allows me to play some old classics plus Megadrive and Snes games, playing streets of rage 2 on a full size cab is awesome.
