Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats

Ralph Waldo Emerson. The happiest man is he who learns from nature the lesson of worship.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca: On entering a temple we assume all signs of reverence. How much more reverent then should we be before the heavenly bodies, the stars, the very nature of God!
John Muir: All the wild world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go, to highlands or lowlands, woods or plains, on the sea or land or down among the crystals of waves or high in a balloon in the sky; through all the climates, hot or cold, storms and calms, everywhere and always we are in God's eternal beauty and love. So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.

In the remote wilderness of southern Utah the struggle for life is a daily grind pitted against austere desert conditions. The land here endures extremes that test the fortitude of even the most hardy creatures and plants. Blasted by summer heat and frigid winter cold, there is scant moisture except for occasional violent floods. Yet, life maintains a tenuous hold in this magnificent landscape.

This is my second of a continuing "one roll shoot" sessions. I find a model, and I shoot one roll of black and white film. No big productions, no crew, just get out and shoot. I've got 36-ish shots to get something good.
In this case, I decided to shoot medium format, and since the Mamiya 645AF only gives me 16 frames per roll of 120, I shot two rolls (32 frames). Which is close to what I'd have gotten with 35mm and one roll. Hey I make the rules, I can do whatever I want.
This is Ilford XP5.

I had a wonderful editorial shoot with Nayakim, and afterwords on our way out, I decided to grab a couple frames of her dressed down and without makeup or anything. She's stunning, and I can't believe how beautifully the fuji pro 400H captured her skin tones !!! This is her skin tone directly from the scanner. (see more of my work on IG @film.grain)
