Test roll with a new second plastic fantastic Holga. This one has more corner/edge blur, and will most likely be my b/w Holga.

I bought a Vena Amsterdam box camera at a flea market. I didn't expect much from it and immediately flipped the lens. This is the result (6x9): more than was visible through the viewfinder and with 638 scratches. I hate both :-))
I had a couple of hours to kill so it seemed like a perfect time to take the little Argus 40 out on a morning drive through the nearby countryside to see what it could do. Frankly I am surprised by the images the 75mm Varex lens on this camera can produce. It is said this is a Cooke triplet design lens.
While this camera is a zone focusing camera, Argus marked a "hyperfocal" distance and f/stop combination lettering in red on the lens. Set at 25 feet at f/8, or a smaller aperture setting, everything from 12' to infinity will be in focus. I used this distance setting at f/11 for all of these images @ 1/100th second.

Fujifilm GFX 50R + Auto Mamiya/Sekor 55mm f/1.8.
This lens was good on full frame. It continues to hold well on medium format.
This bridge dates from 1527 and is still the main artery from the south into the city of Aberdeen. For this photo I used my Bronica ETRS with recently-acquired 40 mm Zenzanon MC lens. Film was Ilford FP4 plus (dated 1999!!), processed in Ilfosol 3 developer. Negative was scanned on an Epson V550, followed by adjustments in Lightroom.
The horizon looks bright.
This photo was taken by a Kiev 60 medium format film camera with a МИР - 26В 3.5/45mm lens and a Hoya HMC O[G] 82mm filter using Ilford Delta 100 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitalized with Photoshop.

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats

Homer: Tell me, O muse, of that ingenious hero who traveled far and wide after he had sacked the famous town of Troy. Many cities did he visit, and many were the nations with whose manners and customs he was acquainted; moreover he suffered much by sea while trying to save his own life and bring his men safely home. . . --Homer's Odyssey, Book I
