Reichenau, Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland.
Reichenau es una isla habitada situada en el lago de Constanza (Bodensee en alemán), estado federado de Baden-Wurtemberg, Alemania. La isla se encuentra entre los lagos Gnadensee y Untersee y está unida a tierra firme por un puente de 400 metros construido en tiempos de Napoleón. Es la isla más grande de este enorme lago europeo y se encuentra en Alemania, pero por su zona sur frente a la costa Suiza del mismo, a un centenar de metros. Frente a su costa norte se halla la localidad de Radolfzell, y a menos de diez kilómetros, la ciudad de Constanza.
Posee un monasterio benedictino fundado en 724 por Pirminius y secularizado en 1799, que fue el principal foco artístico y literario de la región durante los siglos IX-XI. En el año 2000 el monasterio de Reichenau, así como el resto de las iglesias de la isla, fueron incluidos en el Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco.
La isla aparece documentada desde los tiempos de los romanos. Importantes obras de la literatura alemana, desde la época del Minnesang (cantares de amor), se han encontrado en este monasterio. Algunas de ellas todavía se conservan en su biblioteca y otras en el museo comarcal de Baden.
Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la mayor parte de la población de Reichenau fue desalojada durante dos meses y medio para que vivieran en ella unos 3000 presos franceses liberados del campo de concentración de Dachau en cuarentena antes de regresar a su país de origen.
Reichenau is an inhabited island located in Lake Constance (Bodensee in German), federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. The island lies between the Gnadensee and Untersee lakes and is connected to the mainland by a 400-meter bridge built in Napoleon's time. It is the largest island in this huge European lake and is located in Germany, but in its southern area off the Swiss coast, a hundred meters away. Facing its north coast is the town of Radolfzell, and less than ten kilometers away, the city of Constance.
It has a Benedictine monastery founded in 724 by Pirminius and secularized in 1799, which was the main artistic and literary focus of the region during the 9th-11th centuries. In the year 2000 the Reichenau monastery, as well as the rest of the churches on the island, were included in the World Heritage Site by Unesco.
The island appears documented from the times of the Romans. Important works of German literature, from the time of the Minnesang (love songs), have been found in this monastery. Some of them are still kept in his library and others in the Baden county museum.
After World War II, most of the population of Reichenau was evicted for two and a half months so that some 3,000 French prisoners released from the Dachau concentration camp under quarantine lived there before returning to their country of origin.

APELDOORN // De stilte rond het vijftal 1700'n die in oktober 2020 door DC Tractie werd overgenomen, werd medio 2022 eindelijk doorbroken met het verhuren van de 1751. De machine is sinds augustus dit jaar in dienst voor TCS en voorzien van het nummer 101004, als 4e 1700 in hun materieelpark. Tussen de volledige huisstijl-locomotieven blijft de 1751 vooralsnog met haar gele neuzen een opvallende verschijning.
Voor een verjaardag ging het na een reeks nachtdiensten op 5 november in de middag richting Apeldoorn samen met een aantal vrienden. Eerder bestond al het plan om de DinnerTrain die zaterdagavond op de foto te zetten, Apeldoorn vormde datzelfde weekend het startpunt voor de dinertrein. Hoewel we de hoop op het juist parkeren op spoor 4 al een beetje achter ons lieten, kende de gezelligheid uiteraard geen einde en hadden we er geen rekening meer mee gehouden - ondanks dat we uit voorzorg maar de camera's mee van huis hadden genomen.
Rond etenstijd ontvingen we een foto van de eerste rit die middag, waarbij de trein perfect opgesteld stond, zonder door te rijden tot het iets te ver gelegen bakbordje 6.. 'zullen we toch maar een poging ondernemen, het kan net..'. 20 minuten voor vertrek van de tweede rit ging het alsnog richting het station, niet geschoten is altijd mis, we konden het derhalve niet laten een poging te wagen. En, hij stond wederom netjes opgesteld op spoor 4 :)
Geduldig wacht het personeel van trein 33205 met de 1751 (alias 101004) als trekkende kracht het vertrekbevel af wat volgde om 19:43, om via Deventer, Arnhem en Utrecht weer in Apeldoorn te belanden later die avond. Terwijl de aanwezige gasten in de trein konden gaan beginnen aan het diner, kon het clubje weer voldaan richting huize Schenk voor nog wat uurtjes gezelligheid.

Cet espace ouvert, couvert de jardins est le point d'union du palais taïfa. On pouvait y accéder depuis les portiques nord et sud, et probablement depuis les chambres et dépendances est et ouest.
Son nom procède de la naissance dans le palais de l'infante Isabelle d'Aragon, qui devint en 1282 reine de Portugal. Le bassin sud est conservé tandis que celui du côté nord, datant du XIVe siècle, est recouvert d'un sol en bois.

Despuésde 6 meses por aquí, ya se marchó de nuevo al norte; me encantaría saber donde pasa el resto de la primavera y el verano , donde criará si lo hace y ver como a mediados de septiembre irá descendiendo hasta llegar a su rincón preferido de invernada. Me alegro de poder verlo llegar cada año, tímido como siempre los primeros días y como vamos retomando la confianza poco a poco y es que ya van para 7 añitos creo..

The Amman Citadel is a historical site at the center of downtown Amman, Jordan. Known in Arabic as Jabal al-Qal'a, (جبل القلعة), the L-shaped hill is one of the seven jabals(mountains) that originally made up Amman. Evidence of occupation since the pottery Neolithic period has been found. It was inhabited by different peoples and cultures until the time of the Umayyads, after which came a period of decline and for much of the time until 1878 the former city became an abandoned pile of ruins only sporadically used by Bedouin and seasonal farmers. Despite this gap, the Citadel of Amman is considered to be among the world's oldest continuously inhabited places.
The Citadel is considered an important site because it has had a long history of occupation by many great civilizations. Most of the buildings still visible at the site are from the Roman, Byzantine, and Umayyad periods. The major buildings at the site are the Temple of Hercules, a Byzantine church, and the Umayyad Palace.
Though the fortification walls enclose the heart of the site, the ancient periods of occupation covered large areas. Historic structures, tombs, arches, walls and stairs have no modern borders, and therefore there is considerable archaeological potential at this site, as well as in surrounding lands, and throughout Amman.
Archaeologists have been working at the site since the 1920s, including Italian, British, French, Spanish, and Jordanian projects, but a great part of the Citadel remains unexcavated.
