The Mediated Learning Center at De Anza College sets a new standard for digital learning by enabling students to access academic content through a wide variety of digital media formats. The building layout is based on a 50 seat classroom module that can be mirrored and paired to form a 100 seat classroom. The unique corner placement of the projection screen and lectern creates optimal viewing sight-lines from every seat without any dead zones and allows a variety of seating arrangements that can accommodate both lecture and lab classroom types. The modular design is highly flexible and interchangeable, accommodating a dedicated television recording studio, editing suite and broadcast space to support programming, recording and transmission of lectures. Classrooms are planned to enable online, collaborative instruction in real-time.
The heart of the Mediated Learning Center is an airy, two-story atrium that creates space for social interaction and circulation under a fritted, high-performance glass skylight. This defining design feature is also a major component of the building’s unique buoyancy-driven air circulation system, which will ventilate over 80 percent of the building without fan power. The system will produce high levels of indoor air quality by supplying 100 percent outside air at all times and providing six air changes per hour.
On-site renewable energy systems at the center will reduce annual energy costs by nearly 28 percent. Photovoltaic panels totaling over 6000 ft2 will cover sloped roof surfaces. Over 1500 ft2 of solar thermal collectors will provide both domestic hot water and a large portion of the heating load during cold weather. With multiple energy conserving strategies, the building is expected to use 71 percent less energy than the regional average for higher education buildings. The project is LEED Platinum certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Surrounding the building, drought-resistant vegetation and shade trees will conserve irrigation water and create a welcoming gathering place. Constructed site features called runnels will aid stormwater management and quality by allowing rainwater collected on the rooftop to infiltrate onsite through narrow channels.

In appearance similar to the Clovelly class of tenders and diving tenders. These vessels were ideal for coastal training and NCS (Naval Control of Shipping) harbour patrols. The use of the craft of this class which were manned by the RNXS were limited by their slow speed for use in boarding and offshore patrols.
Two vessels of the class operated in Northern Irish Waters and their names were changed to remove the word Loyal thus Loyal Governor became HMS Alert and Loyal Factor became HMS Vigilant and both manned by the Royal Navy.

Opposite the Tian Tan Buddha are six smaller bronze statues known as "The Offering of the Six Devas" and are posed offering flowers, incense, lamp, ointment, fruit, and music to the Buddha. These offerings symbolize charity, morality, patience, zeal, meditation, and wisdom, all of which are necessary to enter into nirvana.
