Hello! Here's a render I made for Fireblade28, a friend of mine on Mecabricks.

Rendered with: Mecabricks

Edited with: Pixlr E

I updated the Mecabricks add-ons for Blender today to reflect the material update for the online service.

Inspired by Hachiroku's VW Bus (copied really), I changed the shaping to be more rounded and angled.

Not much else to be said about this build. Lots of crazy building techniques involved. Took me months to design the front.

A futuristic microscale building I finished a while ago. Might make more of a city at some point.

(Yes, the name is a reference)

This LEGO set keeps showing up in Mecabricks while browsing. This is what you get when there isn't a render yet and I have a few minutes to start one!

...aka "shyness-chan" or "melancholy-chan". Anyway, don't like that nicknames.

A model I've long wanted to upload, and finally have the chance to, the "Ballroom" of the Poseidon, the First Class dining room!

Long a fan of the epic action/disaster film "The Poseidon Adventure", it's been a passion project of mine for several years now to create my own version of the eponymous S.S. Poseidon, the ocean liner of the film which is tragically capsized, setting the scene for the film. I've earlier on posted of the miniature model for the full ship, and here, finally, is the dining room.

This is an older model that had its inception about three years ago, and has continually gone through revisions in the intervening years. The "Ballroom", in which the ship's passengers are celebrating New Year's Eve in the film, is modeled after the First Class dining room aboard the R.M.S. Queen Mary, the original ocean liner that served as both inspiration for the novel upon which the film is based, and as a visual stand-in for the Poseidon itself in the film. The room features a three-tiered "wedding cake" design, stretching the full width of the ship at its lowest level, and narrowing in width in a series of step-backs at each subsequent deck level, culminating in a three-story height at the center of the room.

The room makes heavy use of indirect lighting, and closely follows the light setup of the prototype room aboard the Queen Mary, including large, vase-shaped light fixtures rising from the floor in the room's central portion, and long rows of recessed lighting within the ceilings above the two-story-height sections of the side wings. Small light fixtures are set into the backs of the pillars for additional lighting in the wings, as on the original Queen. Rather than the grid pattern of square light fixtures for the center dome above the dining room in the prototype vessel, I instead put the three skylights of the Poseidon's ballroom that are so iconic to the fictional vessel.

The room's walls are almost entirely in dark orange, to represent varnished wood panelling, same as the prototype room; the Queen Mary boasted several million square feet of wood panelling throughout its interiors, using over fifty types of wood growing worldwide, all from within the British Empire. Decorations were sparse and minimalist aboard the Queen, in true art deco style, making use of wood marquetry, with brass and bronze metalwork accents, and the rooms aboard drew color chiefly from the wide variety of colors and patterns used for carpeting and furniture upholstery---the Queen Mary had over six miles' worth of carpeting on board!

The room itself, and most of its aspects, are of my own design, including the Christmas tree, the light-vases, and most of the detailwork on the room itself. The columns, however, are copied from a column design by Bert.VR www.flickr.com/photos/98281410@N07/ here on Flickr, and I'm extremely grateful that he made his design publicly available for others to view. I never would have been able to figure out a column design like that on my own, and this design proved vital in being able to replicate the Queen Mary's dining room properly. The piano is of unremembered provenance; I think I copied the design from images of various other designs I found on Google, but it's too long ago now for me to remember.

Modeled in LDD, rendered with Mecabricks.

This wonderful LEGO Ideas submission reminded me of the balloons I see over Boise. I grabbed one of my trail photos and rendered the model using Blender.

Just finish to build it on mecabricks, for can save my model.

the model is free for all on mecabricks, just remember it's my creation if you want use it, thanks :)

I must change many parts for can finish, but in real I used other, i will make list later.

"I don't know, I think the resemblance is rather striking. Wouldn't you agree, Number One?"

When I started, I was dead set on using that 1x2 tooth piece on the front of the pod but I was not fully content with the final look. I changed it up a bit and now I have these two varients on the most adorable starship in the Fleet. Scaled, of course.

Just a WIP render I did for my Sherlock Holmes Lego IDEAS project that will be coming soon...Pretty happy with how the lights turned out.

I tried to go a bit further with a render that includes multiple layers put together in the Blender compositor. I only imported it in Photoshop to quickly add a vignette effect.

About a month or two ago I watched a video in which the youtuber Tom Scott played a replica of an ancient board game known as the Royal Game of Ur with the Curator of the British Museum, Irving Finkel. I quite enjoyed the video and have since picked up a little bit of proficiency in playing the game online against AI opponents, but I also wanted to replicate the game in Lego in what would be a playable format. The triangular prism dice of the original just aren't possible at the scale here, so I've replaced them with lego dice that have equivalent probability. All things considered, I'm quite happy with how the board came out, despite having to sacrifice some detail on the sides for the sake of stability.

If you're interested in learning more about the game, here is the wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Game_of_Ur
