The Preston Church. The town of Preston was founded by "Madame" Emily Prestion and her husband Hartwell Preston in about 1885. The Madame was a faith-based healer and mystic. Many of her followers built homes on the property, rent free... There was at one time, a Church (still standing), a train depot, a school hosue and a Post Office. The little town faded from history after the death of the Madame about 1909. A great day of sketching at the former property of Madame Preston!
