Mazdaspeed / Speedsource Mazda 6 GX, driven by Tremblay, Long, and Carbonell. Sahlen 6 hours at the Glen, Watkins Glen International. Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, Saturday and Sunday June 29th and 30th. 06.30.2013.
Got plane tickets to fly back home to Florida in a couple of weeks. I am really looking forward to shooting the RX-7 and RX-8, so I decided to play around with some of the shots I took last time I was down.
Single 430EX II, on camera, bounced off ceiling on carport in complete darkness.
NIght shot of my 2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5. This was taken at the lookout atop Mulholland Highway near Los Angeles, CA at about 11:45 at night. Camera used was my Nikon D300 with Tokina 16-28mm f/2.8 lens. I exposed for 30 seconds during which time I used my SB-800 strobe at 1/8th power to paint the car with light. I used my hand as a crude reflector and fired 3 flashes total - 1 to light the side of the car, 1 to light the top, and 1 to light the front. After finishing with the strobe I then ran over to the car to quickly turn the headlights on and off. Processing on this photo was limited to just the processing of the RAW image itself. No other "photoshopping" or tweaking was done.

Sorry for the lack of photos lately! Been super busy with lots of stuff. Anyways.
Here it is! A while ago I did a feature for Canibeat featuring Evan Fujioka's MazdaSpeed 3. It finally went live on their site! I've known Evan for a couple years and it has been a blast to see his build progress.
Make sure you read the whole feature here!
Also, they didn't use all of the photos that I took, so I will be uploading the rest of them from the set later, so be sure to check back to see the ones not on Canibeat!

It's finally here! The 1991 Mazda 787B with the number 55 Mazdaspeed livery. I have wanted to build this car for a very long time but after many failed attempts I am very proud of this result. And every piece is attached to the car, which is always a big plus, and a big challenge.
