When with a sudden jerk
straight shape, curve shape
he brings the flame to life.
Glass, oak, illuminated,
What joy of being they have,
in light, in lines, be
in living gloss and vein!
when the flame goes out,
fugitive realities,
that shape, that color,
They're running away.
Do they live here or in doubt?
a nostalgia slowly rises
not of the moon, not of love,

No matter where you are and no matter what you do, you carry your memories, your dreams and everything you love with you.
One of our local beach gang, hanging out on the rocks.
This beauty stood out from the gang due to it's darker colouring and extended black patches particularly over the upper wings. Hooded Crow hybrids. When there is less grey than normal as with this bird then it is not a pure Hooded Crow. They intergrade fairly commonly with Carrion Crows,

Stars and clouds above the Grand Canyon ... if you look in the dark abyss there you will see some short light trails in the 30 second exposure, and these are from hikers on the south rim there either hiking down or back up in the Canyon.

A much treasured postcard from the Cook Islands (the printed matter being the actual stamp, I hope you can read it). I thought I'd give it the tropical theme it deserves. There is a Hawaiian bit of fabric in the upper corner (courtesy of a kind person who thinks of me every time she visits there) and I have placed shells on the postcard on a bed of breadcrumbs (no sand in the house).

... Snaring River is a tributary of the Athabasca River and flows into it north of Jasper, Alberta. Comes from the British-Columbian boarder region and is accompanied on his way from grandious peaks and mountains at both sides.
