Photographed at Lions Fishing Pond on outskirts of Holyoke. Archytas was a classical Greek philosopher/mathematician, hence my common name for the genus. Identification to species from photos is, apparently, very difficult. Members of this genus occur across s Canada and the Contiguous USA down into Mexico (and farther south?). Their larvae feed on moth caterpillars of various types
