Strange glassy resin-like material inside ceramic bricks at the Mockbee Building, built in 1880.
What is this stuff? Is it some kind of fireproofing? Insulation?
The Mockbee (Built in 1880) started out as the Bellevue Brewery. While the brewery equipment is long gone, the space still bears marks of its original purpose. The rooms are huge and lend themselves well to exhibiting art, especially large pieces. On a hot summer afternoon, though, a fog can roll through the first floor of the building due to high amounts of humidity.

This was oddly hilarious to a sleep deprived dimmer tech. Ten feet to the right is the tiny stage. Five feet to the left is the freight elevator to the dock. Not so much wiggle room.

Mi material, mis herramientas
Un pintor tiene que sentir que está trabajando con los mejores utensilios, herramientas, materiales y saber gestionar sus procesos a través de una marcada rutina. La creación no es una organización exacta de las cosas, pero sí hay que saber cómo podemos agrupar las ideas para afrontar el trabajo.
En ese caso, como hemos podido ver en las distintas obras realizadas en la Parroquia de San Vicente Mártir de Abando (Bilbao), el Pórtico de Gracia, elaborada en 2010, así como La Cena del Señor, que es de 2008, podemos ver el contraste de colores y la fuerza del movimiento del negro, que en sus tonalidades, diversas todas ellas, me ha proporcionado la posibilidad de expresar el movimiento y el fondo de las cosas, tanto el artístico como la esencia del cuadro.
Este resumen, que es un homenaje, se lo he querido hacer a mis pinturas, a mis herramientas, al material que me ha dado la posibilidad de hacer grandes cosas en estos años. De hecho, la funcionalidad de los pinceles y la selección del tablex, tablero y tabla para los óleos realizados deben de tener un reconocimiento en un proceso que hemos iniciado con ganas, y que nos permitirá subir a la nube, Internet y redes sociales toda una obra, desde 1951 hasta nuestros días.
A la espera de más eventos y exposiciones, esperemos que os gusten todos los contenidos que estamos subiendo. En breve, la primera o segunda semana de julio, tendremos la nueva web en marcha para informar de las noticias, colecciones y referencias.
