Still enjoying our holiday and the shooting of macro's :)
Holidays are great, finally lots of time to meet you again on Flickr.
Greetings to all of you.
Have a great weekend my friends!
An LIRR DM30AC Appears out of Nowhere on this deadhead move heading from Penn Station to Jamaica. It rounds the corner and thanks to the diesel exhaust along the cab, it matches with Best Buy Signs in the background!
I had a whole bunch of these nuts (with matching bolts) hanging around. Finally got to make some use of them!
On its first day in service on the NRFF, RBMN 5019 brings the train through Port Clinton, PA, past F9A 270, both painted in a similar "tuxedo" style paint scheme.
A lady walking between 2 of Hull's unique and iconic cream telephone boxes on Lowgate.
Hull is the only place in the country whose public telephone boxes are not painted red, or carry the Royal crown above the door, like every other phone box in the country.
Hull is still the only place in the UK with no BT landlines, with residents and businesses served only with telecoms services by KCOM.

Merton once defined a monk as “a marginal person who withdraws deliberately to the margin of society with a view to deepening fundamental human experience.” Those of us “in the world” may not have deliberately withdrawn, as in behind monastery walls, but we are necessarily on the margins much of the time, and it is from there that we, too, deepen our experience.

An outlawed EDPO sits in front of Lowell Tower, next to a widecab GP40 that was set out by the Nashua crew. AYPO would pull up in between them a short while later.
I stumbled across this boy feeding crimson rosellas at Barrington House in the Barrington Tops NSW. This is an old photo taken in 2005. The matching colours of the shirt and rosellas was what i call photographers luck. Barrington House was a wonderful place to visit but it has since burnt down.
NECR 3474 leads 3478 & 3477 on the southbound 611 across the Millers River in Millers Falls, MA on November 24, 2021. I know I'm certainly not the first one to do this view, but this was my first crack at it, and you really can't beat the matching power...plus no 721 to be seen!

This pair of Chevrolets straddle the mid-century mark. The year 1949 is represented in the foreground by a Skyline coupe. In the background a 1951 2-door hardtop Bel Air points in the direction of 1960 and beyond.
If the image seems too yellow, it's because smoke from forest fires in the interior was covering the sky and turning the light yellow. It's as if I had applied a yellow filter to the whole image. Fortunately, rain cleaned the air the following day and the westerly winds that brought the precipitation blew the smoke off the coast and back to the inland parts of the states of Oregon and Washington.
It would never happen, but I'd be delighted if Detroit were to produce vehicles with replica exteriors matching these and modern features including today's comforts and conveniences, handling, power, fuel economy and safety. There's enough room under those long, bulbous hoods for large banks of batteries. With a very few exceptions, modern automotive design is pretty undistinguished.
A specially wrapped Keihan 600 Series rumbles through suburban Ishiyama east of Kyoto with a local for Omi-jingu-mae Station. Here the train approaches Karahashi-Mae Station, just one stop up from its terminus in the distance.
For the "Culturally Curious" the wrap and art on the 600 Series depict the main characters for the Chinese mobile game "Wuthering Waves". As part of a one-month Autumn collaboration, Kuro Games and Keihan wrapped one 600 Series in a gorgeous looking Momiji Maple pattern, accented with orange and reds, plus headmarks, and stamp rallies across Keihan's system near Kyoto. The train itself will be in this wrap until January 2026.

Once news of the CP merger (or takeover more like it) was announced, something I definitely wanted to work in was one last good chase of the turn to Hattiesburg on the Gulfport line. Last year I tried on 3 separate occasions to check that off the list, with rather dreadful luck. Unusual call times, bad weather, bad date with a crazy girl, you name it all combined to torpedo those trips to varying degrees.
With the clock really ticking down to the 11th hour on KCS this February, marked off on a perfect weather Monday for one last try; and thankfully luck finally turned around for a good southbound chase. Not only that, but finally got a matched belle consist with a real train.
While the southbound chase is the real draw, Perkinston is the one place morning light works and the SD40-2 pair drag about 30 cars up the short grade through town for the first shot of the day.
