PIT/MASTIFF MIX PUPPIES: We have 2 remaining (of 3) of these adorable, 2-3 month old puppies, all male. They love to snuggle and play with each other, like their toys, and are also very people-oriented.Though these little guys get along well together, they’ll blossom in kind, committed homes of their very own :-)

They live in Kennel 30.

For more information about these puppies contact doginfo@apsofdurham.org.

Or Cane Corso . She is happy here after finding a patch of fragrant herbs to root around and roll in. Upon inspection the patch contained horehound which is related to catnip. This is the most wonderful dog ever. She is a real companion and protector of the family. The Cane Corso descends from very old breeds and is the last of the coursing mastiffs

We got our "monsters" Big Barker beds for Christmas! We have probably purchased 20+ beds over our giant pooches 7 years and I wish we would have known about these several years ago! They really love their new beds... Don't mind the blankets, they are kind of attached to them as well. Mt. Pleasant, SC

The Boxer is part of the Molosser dog group, developed in Germany in the late 19th century from the now extinct Bullenbeisser, a dog of Mastiff descent, and Bulldogs brought in from Great Britain. The Bullenbeisser had been working as a hunting dog for centuries, employed in the pursuit of bear, wild boar, and deer. Its task was to seize the prey and hold it until the hunters arrived. In later years, faster dogs were favored and a smaller Bullenbeisser was bred in Brabant, in northern Belgium. It is generally accepted that the Brabanter Bullenbeisser was a direct ancestor of today's Boxer. In 1894, three Germans by the names of Friedrich Robert, Elard König, and R. Höpner decided to stabilize the breed and put it on exhibition at a dog show. This was done in Munich in 1895, and the next year they founded the first Boxer Club, the Deutscher Boxer Club. The Club went on to publish the first Boxer breed standard in 1902, a detailed document that has not been changed much to this day.

The breed was introduced to other parts of Europe in the late 19th century and to the United States around the turn of the 20th century. The American Kennel Club (AKC) registered the first Boxer in 1904, and recognized the first Boxer champion, Dampf vom Dom, in 1915. During World War I, the Boxer was co-opted for military work, acting as a valuable messenger dog, pack-carrier, attack dog, and guard dog. It was not until after World War II that the Boxer became popular around the world. Taken home by returning soldiers, they introduced the dog to a wider audience and soon became a favorite as a companion, a show dog, and a guard dog.

Our English Mastiff has gone through COUBTLESS beds and toys I should say. She torn up her indestructible #Kong bed made for crates. Yeah that lasted a week. Now anybody that knows anything about Mastiffs, knows there bones are fragile and needs lots of support throughout life especially the puppy stages. We finally got @bigbarkerusa crate bed and viola all better! It's big enough for a XL crate, it's soft enough to make her feel like she's on a bed while we are at work rather then the floor of course. But in all seriousness this bed has been amazing, she actually will come to the crate in the morning now before I leave, as if to tell me it's okay she's good. Before it was a struggle and I know it was because she was so uncomfortable. I can't wait to get the XL dog beds next! Thank u so much for making such a thoughtful and wonderful product for these giant beast!

Mastiffs tags pop up all over Napoli. I didn't get the reference, then found out it's a group of supporters of Napoli's football team.

We gave our 12 year old one of our older digital cameras and this is one of the pictures he took of Aegis on our bed.

Reba's owner was so nice and willing to share about the process.

This is Ruger 200+ pound English Mastiff and his best friend, Magnum who is now 170 pounds. In this photo Ruger was already over 200 pounds and Magnum was about 130. They love their bed and I am shocked at how well it has held up. No tears or stains at all. :-)
