The name of these flowers escapes me but I like their colour of course.
Thank you for visits, comments and favs.
The so called "Proud Boys" are the white supremacist group Trump is so fond of. They have done nothing in their lives to be actually be proud of and they live through their white privilege and by their oppression of others. And yet, they can't even walk in their own communities without a gun and they can't walk into stores with their mask on because no one better impinge on their freedom to cause harm to whomever they wish.
Pride and humans with pride is about having a sense of who you are and living through grace and kindness...of doing the right thing and not being afraid to do the right thing even though you may have been oppressed for your gender identification or orientation. This is something to truly be proud of. This is who are world needs now not those who live by hate and rule by fear.

Both past and present,
we sculpt our masks to both hide -- and also reveal.

Wishing everyone a great day ahead!
when Mother Nature creates magic and turns the sky into works of the most beautiful art.
And that's what she did last evening. Monica and I were going out to take fly masks off the horses and we were so wowed we could hardly believe it.
We had our iPhones but I had to have Monica push the button of mine while I held it up with my left hand to capture this cloud.
I did no post processing on this image at all. This is exactly how the sky looked after the picture was taken. It was so gorgeous to me. Mother Nature rocks!
But they are meant to hide what lies behind or to trigger a particular response. Photos can be like that. Leica M8 plus Voigtlaender Nokton Classic 40/1.4 at F8.
It's in literature that true life can be found. It's under the mask of fiction that you can tell the truth.

The mask in which you choose to disguise yourself uncovers who you subconsciously are or want to be. Masks reveal in the eyes the face that lies hidden as if the mask is a dark glass mirroring your soul.
― Chloe Thurlow, Katie in Love
The mask is telling us that it is in the interest of the common good that the rich get richer. That it is best to let them get on with things and that we all will benefit in the end. Humpty Dumpty said 'There's glory for you!' 'I don't know what you mean by "glory",' Alice said. Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. 'Of course you don't — till I tell you. I meant "there's a nice knockdown argument for you!"' 'But "glory" doesn't mean "a nice knock-down argument",' Alice objected. 'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.' 'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.' 'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master — that's all.'
Sony A7M3; contre-jour, reflector. The Korean folk mask represents the "academic", better described as the landholding Confucian scholar.
This mask, created by Igor Mitoraj, belongs to the museum "Beelden aan Zee", Scheveningen.

Each one of us in our everyday lives wear masks. how we look and present outwardly doesn't always reflect how we feel on the inside. sometimes we put on a brave face simply because we don't know how to talk about our feelings. or because we don't want to be a burden to those we care about. it's important though to know that those we care about most often also care about us the same way. so if you need to talk, then talk, your real friends and family will be there for you no matter what. no one is ever truly alone.

In addition to the Yellow-rumped Warblers, we saw a lot of Cedar Waxwings eating the Cedar berries. In fact that is where part of their name comes from. From allaboutbirds.org: "The birds’ name derives from their appetite for cedar berries in winter." The bird pictured here is an immature bird as evident by the prominent streaking on the breast and faint looking black mask as compared to an adult. Anoka County, MN 10/04/20

We wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile
