On 28 January, EFSP presents a new post by La Collectionneuse on the 'Girl Who Is Too Beautiful', Barbara La Marr.

Barbara La Marr really embraced the hedonism of the 1920s. She burned bright and briefly, had a wild time and died young. She had an illegitimate child, five marriages, two hours sleep a night, was a herion addict... all in just 29 years. She was one of Louis B. Mayer's favourite actresses and he named Hedy Lamarr after her.

JOHNNY MARR: Born in Ardwick, Manchester in 1963, formed his first band at the age of 13. He was part of several bands before forming The Smiths with Morrissey in 1982. The Smiths attained commercial success and were critically acclaimed, with Marr's jangle-pop guitar style becoming distinctive of the band's sound, but separated in 1987 due to personal differences between Marr and Morrissey. Since then, Marr has been a member of The Pretenders, The The, Electronic, Modest Mouse and The Cribs and has become a prolific session musician working with names such as Talking Heads and Hans Zimmer.
GREATER MANCUNIANS is a Manchester College student led landmark photography project (supported by Manchester City Council). It features those people born, bred, or who have made their home within the current Greater Manchester boundary and who have in some way culturally shaped the city and its surrounding boroughs.
The project will be published and exhibited in a major city centre exhibition in 2021/22.
