Marlins Park is a baseball park located in Miami, Florida. It is the current home of the Miami Marlins, the city's Major League Baseball franchise. It is located on 17 acres of the former Miami Orange Bowl site in Little Havana, about 2 miles (3 km) west of Downtown. Construction was completed in March 2012, in time for the 2012 season.

The stadium is designed in a neomodern form of baseball architecture. Marlins Park was also LEED certified as the greenest MLB park in 2012. The building is the sixth MLB stadium to have a retractable roof. With a seating capacity of 37,442, it is the third-smallest stadium in Major League Baseball by official capacity, and the smallest by actual capacity.

The stadium's public-funding plan led to a protracted lawsuit, largely contributed to the ouster of several local politicians, and triggered an SEC investigation. As revelations of the team's finances and their handling of payroll (both before and after construction) seemed to contradict some of the premises on which the tax-funded-stadium deal were based, the ballpark controversy intensified. Despite questionable financing decisions by members of local government at the time, the financing of the project did not use General Fund taxes from local taxpayers and pulled from tourist funds specifically allocated for public-benefiting projects like sports facilities.

The facility hosted a second-round pool of the 2013 World Baseball Classic, a first-round pool of the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and hosted the 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The park also hosts soccer matches, fundraising galas and other events during the winter. It also hosted the Miami Beach Bowl from 2014 through 2016.

This is a Striped Marlin at the split second it leapt out of the water. Striped Marlins are exceedingly swift predatory fish that feed on smaller shoaling fish like sardines. They are found throughout tropical and subtropical waters but are probably most frequent in the eastern Pacific where I took this. They are large too, averaging 2.9m from tail to sword-tip, but can exceed 4m. Most of my previous sightings have been of their tail fins at the surface but on this trip I saw three or four different individuals leaping. Typically they were distant but I had some luck with this relatively close one.

I was going to go with a backlit version until I saw the accidental shift effect on this image, which gives it motion and texture.

Encountered by chance in a hotel car park in Yorkshire. It was one of several kit cars (of different types) that were gathered together, presumably for some sort of tour. I think this is a Berlinetta model, a later, larger version of the original two-seat roadster that was designed and sold by Paul Moorhouse. The Roadster was one of the (many) kit cars that I dreamed of one day building in the late 1970s and 1980s, but (so far) haven't.

Heavy lift carrier White Marlin passing Lossie this evening for Invergordon, with more wind farm parts from China. Seemingly more economical to build these in the Far East and ship them half way round the planet! Might be financially cheaper but can't be much good for the environment.

I am guessing a fairly common fish in local waters? I was amused by the fact that a lot of money has been spent on roundabouts in Sihanoukville but the authorities haven't surfaced most of the roads yet...

The Rambler Marlin (later AMC Marlin) is a two-door fastback automobile produced in the United States by American Motors Corporation from 1965 to 1967. A halo model for the company, it was marketed as a personal luxury car.

In '65, the car was marketed as "Rambler Marlin". For '66, the car featured "Marlin" identification only, named "AMC Marlin", as was the '67 model.

Its fastback roof design was previewed on the 1964 Rambler Tarpon show car, based on the compact Rambler American. 1965 and 1966 model year production Marlins were fastback versions of the mid-sized two-door hardtop Rambler Classic, and 1967 brought a major redesign in which the car was given the new, longer AMC Ambassador full-size chassis. This version had a longer hood and numerous 'improvements' including more interior room and new V8 engines.

Blue Marlin is a semi-submersible heavy lift ship designed to transport very large semi-submersible drilling rigs above the transport ship’s deck. It is equipped with 38 cabins to accommodate 60 people, a workout room, sauna and swimming facilities.

Blue Marlin and her sister ship MV Black Marlin comprise the Marlin class of heavy lift ship. They were owned by Offshore Heavy Transport of Oslo, Norway, from their construction, in April 2000 and November 1999 respectively, until 6 July 2001, when they were purchased by Dockwise Shipping of the Netherlands.

The Marlin Guide Gun is a lever action rifle chambered for the .45-70 Government cartridge. This particular gun is one of my weekend guns, having been reworked internally at the Tilltac facility for reduced recoil. A custom hammer has also been installed for easier thumb grip, and a combination RIS rail/rear sight has been bolted on for mounting optics.

I had a problem exporting the codes of the finished version. Luckily, i do have the codes for the (mostly) finished gun minus some of the smaller details. I can post it if there's demand, but only after I do a custom version first... ;)

Testing back a Summicron. Is that really better than the Planar? That's a good question.

This is one of the guns I recently got from my aunt and uncle. Currently, I am not claiming them as my own, but it looks like they may become mine. My uncle never cleaned his guns, so I have spent many hours taking these apart and cleaning them piece by piece.

This is the Marlin Model 1894 (basically a Winchester design) "carbine" with a microgroove barrel chambered in .357 Magnum. My uncle had a scope on it, so I left it there.

The heavy-lift ship Black Marlin left June 17 from Shanghai with no fewer than 18 hulls from Concordia Damen inland vessels and a Damen crane barge.

The ships are built in China to build a ship that is as cost-efficient as possible for the customer. It is much more efficient and cheaper to ship all hulls to Europe in one go than in multiple times.

Thank you for taking the time to view my photo,

maybe for your faves and comments, I appreciate that very much!

this little guy lives out in our woods, occasionally in the fall and winter on gray days i can hear him rustling through the leaves looking for bugs to eat. Very seldom do i get the opportunity to see his cute little face.
