After strolling Key West, Florida, for several hours, Marline and I took some time in our stateroom to get pictures of our rings. We tried several poses, but we liked this one the best. It was Marline's idea to interlace the fingers.
(And yes, we got married on 06/06/06!!!)
(One of thousands of pictures taken during our honeymoon cruise, June 5-10, 2006, in the Caribbean.)
I don't think I've ever photographed a sunrise before, since I'm mainly an evening/night person. Even if I have, I know I've never photographed a sunrise over the water.
The previous evening, I planned to get outside as soon as possible in the morning. I was out by 05:30 CST or so (thanks to my daughter waking early), and it's a good thing too. It required a good 30 minutes before my lens quit fogging over from the 100% humidity. And not just the front of the lens, but the back of it. And my viewfinder. And my LCD screen.
But I got my sunrise image(s) over Corpus Christi Bay.

UPDATE: I did find a previous sunrise photo, from 2005, in my photostream. That was just a month after I joined Flickr and it wasn't shot over water. Check it out.

These seem to be very aptly named. They do look like a bunch of rotting fingers sticking out of the ground. They even have finger nails !
This image made with the "panorama" feature on my phone, and is wider than I could normally get with this phone's lens (which is fairly wide to begin with).
This sunset was nothing special. I made this image to contrast with the one I made with my phone several minutes earlier, during my evening walk. Just a few minutes can make a LOT of difference. Timing is everything.
UPDATE: As of 2017.08.20, this image is set to pass 30,000 views in a day or so. It will be only my second image to ever pass that mark. It is also my second-most-faved image, with 222 faves.
UPDATE, 2017.10.08: This is now only my second image with more than 30,000 views; it passed that mark in late September.
In the lower foreground is the frame of the new house that's being built in the lot behind us. The roof joists hadn't been added by the time I made this image, but you can see how it will block at least the lower portion of any future sunset photos I might make.
(It looks farther away in this photo than it really is, due to the ultra-wide angle lens -- 10mm. From my back door to our back fence is about 35 feet, and then it's another 25 feet or so to the back of this house, so less than 60 feet [18.3m] from the lens to the frame you see here.)
Or "What I've Been Up To"
I had to put the camera right at the ceiling for this photo, eight feet above the floor.
UPDATE, 2018.11.09: This is now my 22nd photo to surpass 10,000 views! Thanks, all of you.
