The Tide Marker in the Dee estuary, Flint, North Wales. UK. The weather was very overcast with flat light which lends itself to this hi key shot.
This is a re-edit and is one of many
On one hand I am drawn to the density of color but on the other , I am not

My goal with this series is to explore every day scenes under the cover of darkness. A street corner, a lamp post, a doorway. Big city, small town, urban, rural. Man-made light versus nature’s darkness–––light and shadow interpreting minimalist settings in black and white. To see more in this series, check out Cover Of Darkness.
A marker of the General Post Office (as the UK postal service was called until 1969) to mark the presence of an underground cable.

Climbing higher on Morrone we have a marker cairn clearly marking our way (despite a clear footpath) but looks great against the Cairngorms rising in the distance and still capped with snow.
Done to death these markers but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't have a few in the portfolio. :-)
You aren't supposed to bring your boat between this marker and the shore. Because of the severe drought, the marker is on the shore!

Gulf of Mexico in Florida seems very shallow in place. Here in Hudson these markers show the way to deeper waters.

This channel mark sits just off Point Henry near Geelong. It was named after the brig "Henry" that first charted Corio Bay in 1836.
Point Henry is the site of the former Alcoa Aluminium smelter. Unfortunately like most things industrial these days it has closed. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYld5rkxG6g
We don't make anything in Australia anymore! We even import most of our workforce. But that's the Brave New World we live in. You really should read Aldous Huxley's novel. Although written in 1932 it is being used as the blueprint for our immediate future world (check out the World Economic Forum website www.weforum.org/great-reset/).
This article sums up my position fairly well (it's not long and I urge you to read it). www.opendemocracy.net/en/oureconomy/conspiracy-theories-a...
