My first bike. I learned to ride on that bike. It was stolen.
tdc marks on a suzuki dt2 outboard - circa 1983. The first aligned to the notch in the casing is tdc - the others I presume are 1 and 2 deg before. Strangely - the notch is facing away from the piston at 180 deg - which is not really exactly sensible to my mind - but it is japanese !
The bit of paper in the points serves to check when they open if you pull on it.
edit - checking the exact tdc with a dial gauge - these marks represent 5 - 10 and 15 deg before tdc - aligned to the notch top left, That figures - actual tdc is an imaginary line to the left of the three !

Mason's mark on one of the pillars in St Michael's chapel of the bell tower at Moissac abbey. The chapel built between 1115 and 1120 is a good example of Norman architecture and each pillar still carries its own mason's mark.
Mark at the ballpark in Arlington when we went to see the Rangers play Baltimore.
This photo has been pretty heavily photoshopped. There was nothing artistic at all about how the picture was taken, but I really do like the end result.

It's finished except for the electrical work. That will be done today.
Also today--the fence builder comes to mark the fence line. Hopefully, we'll have a fence next week and the landscaping can start the week after that.
