Boston gets ready in all different ways for the Boston Marathon.

Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON stacks climb the grade through Marathon. Too the right is the old siding (now a stub end storage track) and too the left the abandoned railyard for the pulp mill. CP removed the mainline switches a few years back. A new 14600 siding was built in 2015 using old roadbed running east of Marathon to Heron Bay. The former siding had a length of 6741 feet. 122823

These athletes have such great skill and determination

Marathon Motor Works was one of the most successful automobile manufacturers in the US in 1912, with production of 10,000 units, and a dealer in every state. By 1914 the company had ceased production as financial improprieties by it's board members, and embezzlement had bankrupted the only automobile manufacturer to ever build cars in Nashville. The building, originally the Phoenix Cotton Mill, was built in 1881. It is now home to several loft apartments and a couple of art studios and a fitness center, but some of the back of the building has fallen in and is uninhabitable.

AMTK 156, wearing Amtrak's first paint scheme, heads west along the Massachusetts Turnpike on Marathon Monday 2017 with the Boston section of the Lake Shore Limited in tow.

A participant in the (May 2022) Ottawa Marathon looking like she was enjoying herself. Most runners at this point looked tired, or in pain. This lady looked like she could go for hours.

My daughter running in the Fleet half marathon in aid of cancer research Uk. She completed the course in 2hrs 35mins.

I am very proud of my daughter. Well done.
