Renewable sources of energy is the future. It is a demand of generations. Countries in Europe and all over the world are using this energy and promoting it as well. In some European nations they make a law to build up the roof tops suitable for the installation of solar panels. Mapping the building roof top is an essential part for this kind of initiative. One need to select the best place on a roof top for the installation so that it can utilize the solar energy to a full extent. 3D building roof digitization is a best way by which we can know all the essential geometric aspects of a building. In this method we can exactly measure the height and area of the roof top and all structures on it. We can identify the highest point of a building, its height from ground and its height from Mean Sea Level (MSL). This data is used as an input to calculate how much solar power the roof can yield and at what cost. This need high resolution satellite imagery or ultra high resolution aerial or drone data.
