This map was created after the trip was over. The only pre-objectives of the trip were whales and astronomy. I hadn't even set myself duration or distance limitations. As it turned out, in 19 days I drove 8,856 kms (5,508 miles). The photos that follow are a record of the things I saw on the trip.
Saturday night my brother took advantage of me being really high and persuaded me to enter an orienteering competition the following afternoon.
So on sunday we both joined our parents - lifelong orienteering enthusiasts - and went all together to the event. Haven't been with a map and compass for at least ten years, I felt a bit strange in a starting corridor but once i went in a forest I was surprised how pleasant it was. Though my thirty years older father beat us with ease, I enjoyed that hour in a forest so much as well as meeting other club members who I haven't seen for so long.
Great afternoon, thanks bro!

Unbranded and unboxed - spotted sitting in a box outside an antique shop. The bag was unopened so we took a chance. A lot of puzzle dust but otherwise in good condition, although the pieces were a little on the thin side. Luckily there was a guide picture included.
Total piece count for 2018: 131,319
Puzzle number 173

Disregard the pink shaded areas. We travelled from Kathmandu to Sunsari to Jhapa to Bara to Palpa to Dang and last of all to Banke before heading back to Kathmandu.
All in the space of 6 days. w00t!
Displacement maps are psd files with a texture. The light and dark values are used to modify text or images so that they appear to be embedded in the texture. The filter to modify the text is Distort>displace. The displacement map has to be the same size as the file being modified and it has to be a psd file (not jpg).
The route in 5 days, sometimes we made detours so we came to 500 km. We slept in Oostwoud, Workum, Baars, Elburg and Amsterdam. Very nice trip!
British map of Leonforte and surrounding area of Sicily.
One of a series of maps and sketches loaned for scanning by the Hastings and Prince Edward Regimental Museum in July 2023 and October 2025. The maps relate to the landing of the regiment in Sicily in 1943.
the red square is where I'd go for good photos if you're general admission. you see turn 8, 9 and 10...they're slow enough to take decent photos. turn 6 terrance is also good for photos if you purchase reserved seating. corner 10 terrance looks pretty good too, but I didn't wander over there myself.
