2006. internal dye diffusion transfer process. 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 in. (11 x 9 cm.) (overall); 3 1/8 x 3 in. (8 x 8 cm.) (image). artist collection. camera: dine instant close-up model IV; film: polaroid 600.
My first try at manual focussing. Camera was shutter priority so I didn't have to worry too much about exposure settings. I did have to adjust the colour balance a bit as the scan gave me a weird reddish-magenta tint. Otherwise, everything else untouched.
Relatively happy with results, except I probably won't use this film too often in future.
She was watching an incredible number of geese flying above making some really strange sound, in three arrow formations. It was weird. I didn't get the shot in time : (

The woman in the left is using a very traditional means of carrying things in China. Two baskets are hung from a bamboo shoulder pole. Most of the weight is loaded on the shoulder, saving the person's arms from falling off the shoulders!

Film photography was supposed to have been killed off by the digital era. There are many people still refuse to abandon film photography. Shooting with film is about enjoying the whole photography experience. I feel the moment more, and get a true sense of achievement. My lens is manual focus, so I shoot at a snails pace now. This is a good thing. This is a great benefit of shooting with film, because it forces you to try and pre-visualize what you want to happen.

Southeast view off parking deck at 4th and 21th in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The most prominent buildings are the YMCA, Cadence Building, and Catholic Cathedral. Shots taken handheld propped on side of parking deck in Aperture Priority mode on the Sony a5000. I feel like these shots give a favorable impression of the old manual focus Canon 24mm f2.8 lens.
Cassius Blue butterfly ~ This is a tiny butterfly with wings folded he is no bigger than my thumbnail. I found a few of them flitting about a clump of wildflower spikes hidden away behind a huge Saw Palmetto. If anyone knows the name of these tiny flowers let me know. This is my kind of butterfly, he sipped leisurely at each flower giving me a chance to manually focus and had no problem with me approaching to minimum focal distance which put the front element of my lens in his face at 4 inches away.
