The life that is still ahead of you is so much more important than your past.

One more shot of my 72th floor shooting before I take a little flickr break. I am going for a short vacation, you'll will figure out the place when I post my next shot!

This my first Vertorama done with my Nikkor Fisheye. I created two tone-mapped HDRs of 7 exposures each (top/bottom).The stitching had to be done completely manually. Optical correction to remove the bending of the buildings.

I also took a close-up of the Burj Dubai (looks tiny in this shot) that I will post later.

The huge tower on the foreground is the Rose Rotana Hotel. It was actually totally obstructing the view on that side of the building in construction.

Taken this evening at Dell Quay Marina near Chichester. I took 25 pictures over an hour and a half standing in cold water just to get this one good one. So don't worry when the pro on his vlog tells you he always does it in one. Maybe he does maybe he doesn't. Most of us don't.

I used an ND 4 grad filter as the sky was so bright with the sun starting to dip down to the right.

I also used an ND10 to get the effect on the water but also to try and get as much colour in the frame as I could as the sun was starting to go behind a massive bank of cloud just out shot.

I occasionally trot out an old manual-focus lens for my daily walks –– probably 4-5 times a year. Yesterday, it was a Ricoh/Rikenon 50mm 1.7 lens. I got the lens at a garage sale, pre-Covid, for $25. I think it’s from the late 1970s or early 1980s. With a #Fotodiox adapter, this K-mount lens works on my Fuji cameras.

Walking through the Gamble Garden in downtown Palo Alto, Calif., I snapped this pic. I think the lens resolves pretty well for $25, though my eyes have a tough time doing the manual focus thing. Regardless, it’s nice to see that spring has sprung.

Фото безъ коррекции/объработки.

I brought this flower inside from the garden this afternoon because it's easier to control the lighting indoors than out.

Lighting detail: The main light was a Yongnuo manual flash in a Lastolite soft box positioned at camera right, and just out of the frame. Back lighting came from a second Yongnuo flash in a Rogue grid behind the flower at camera left. Fill light is from

a hand held mirror at camera left. The strobes and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF=603N.

Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. For each image in the set, and there are over 1900 of them, I describe how I set up the lighting for that particular shot. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157628079460544/

Other pictures that I've taken of Birds of Paradise flowers can be seen in my creatively titled Birds of Paradise album, and there are just over 100 of them.

We have a lot of Bird Of Paradise Flowers In bloom right now, and I brought this one inside today where it's easier to control the light.

Lighting: This was a two light setup using two Yongnuo manual strobes. The main light was in a Lastolite 8.6 inch soft box at camera left, and the back light was from a second flash in a Rogue grid behind the flower at camera right. The strobes and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.

I went out for a walk with my son

after being cooped up indoors working all day and this is what I ended up with. At first I thought it probably had to do with my psyche subliminally illustrating my thought process, but then I realized I'm really not that deep, just lazy, uninspired and pretentious.

To be honest, I prefer the Auto setting on my camera. I have taken photo after photo for this challenge and just cannot create what I see in my mind's eye. This is one of the better results using manual.

Those of you who have seen my macros have already observed that I like the 'dreamy' look. That is, feature a little segment of the subject and the rest is just 'color', more or less.

In Explore! June 8, 2023. Thank you for the views, faves and kind words!

Hat was.

El Viento (The Wind)

There are also a number of guests milling around in the port of Heraklion (not very big). This boat with its Spanish name was simply impossible to miss. But I was a little jealous, as sailing boats are almost always very lucrative and well equipped.

It's got something.

In 1868, British police first manually used red and green gas lights to control horse carriage traffic at night outside the House of Commons. According to Washington State University Magazine, the Americans then contributed the following:

"American policeman Lester Wire designed the first electric traffic light. It was first installed in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 5, 1914, at the corner of 105th and Euclid Avenue.

1917 — First interconnected traffic signal system installed in Salt Lake City, with six connected intersections controlled simultaneously from a manual switch.

1920 — William Potts, a Detroit policeman, invented the first four-way and three-colored traffic lights. He introduced yellow lights to indicate the light would change soon. Detroit became the first city to implement the four-way and three-colored traffic lights."
