Manta spotted on our outing for Whale Sharks. Our fearless leader Alex and one of our compatriots jumped in and swam with him for a bit. Huge guy (or gal) it was ... at least 12 ft across.

Manta Rays at Mantapoint, Nusa Penida. Very impressive to see these 3m. wide fish swim beside you. Too bad the water was a bit murky but the experience was awesome!

Dive guide reckoned about 5m 'wingspan'.

So as is my usual style.

I wandered off the officially sanctioned 'hiking trail' at Hollywell in search of more great views and shots.

I noticed that there seemed to be a slightly acrid smell to the air and sounds of distant engines...

 

I brushed it off...

 

A couple minutes later I encountered some guys on dirt bikes and ATV's racing up and down the mountain.

Despite being startled I managed to snap off this shot :-P
