October 27, 2012 - Manitou Springs, CO hosts the annual Emma Crawford Coffin Races. Each team is required to have an Emma and the race is all uphill. Top fastest teams race again in the finals.

May 8, 2023: Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Manitou Springs, Colorado.
Built between 1904-1907, The Manitou Cliff Dwellings is a privately owned tourist attraction with a recreated Anasazi cliff dwelling, museum, and gift shop. Visitors can walk and climb through the recreated cliff dwellings. The cliff dwellings are based on actual examples found in Mesa Verde National Park and similar preserved sites.
The Anasazi, also known as the Ancestral Puebloans, lived in the Four Corners area of the American Southwest from about 1200 BC to AD 1300.

South Manitou - I made the aquaintence of two pleasant and generous birders. I tried to learn as much as I could finding that in one stretch of woods there were three different types of uncommon song birds around.
The indigo bunting is territorial. If you play a song from your, let's say, Iphone, the bird will come somewhat close to you, fluttering its wings looking for trouble.

I'm not religious, but I've always found crosses beautiful for some odd reason.
I went to Manitou Springs with my sister and her boyfriend today. It was beautiful up there, but it was extremely hot and there were A LOT of people, due to something that was going on there. So we didnt stay long, unfortunately.
