The Manitou Cliff Dwellings were relocated to Manitou Springs in the early 1900's from southwestern Colorado. The structures themselves are thought to be built between 1100 and 1300 a.d.

I was intrigued by the color of weathered wood on the barn. This photo is a hybrid where the barn is in full color while the rest of the photo is b/w.

The Manitou Island Light sits on a 3-mile long, 1-mile wide island off the eastern tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula in Lake Superior. The lighthouse was originally built in 1849 and rebuilt in 1861. It is 78 feet tall.

Looking northwest along the southwest shore of North Manitou Island. Probably taken in ~ 1996 on a wicked 3 day trip we took during our summer break from high school. This trip provided the necessary inspiration for the creation of the "Manitou Mix". A powerful drink concocted in a travel thermos from various ingredients we pooled together (you can see the thermos being carried by Wiberg). To my knowledge the mix has never been faithfully reproduced, which is probably a good thing.
