Holiday bookplates I designed for friends from old record cover scans, some vintage photographs and a couple of original shots.
Image manipulation to remove the guy in the background without cropping. Had to recreate the stuff behind him. I've printed out the manipulated image at 8x10 and you couldn't tell it had been manipulated unless you knew before hand.
Ex student of mine, and a wonderful addition to our BBCS staff.

Playing about with a new photographic programme and turned one of my pictures into a pencil drawing. This would be brilliant printed out and then "washed" with colour.
I know, you might say this is fuzzy or the half of her face cropped but I like this picture just like this. It was a delight talking to Isabella and making pictures of her also :-)

Manipulating Reality - How Images Redefine the World

This image is another result of exploring the urban environment of a school. This scene shows my ability to recognise formal elements in photography as this photo focuses on the lines and sense of space. I liked the relationship between the staircases as the middle pillar serves as a divider between the two halves of the photo - each half is almost a mirror image of the other. The scene is well lit due to ambient lighting from the reflective metal surfaces. For example one half is in shadow while the other staircase is lit from below. I really like this photography that uses formal elements. This responds to the brief as the exploration of line and personality of man-made structures such as the diagonals of the staircase imply how man has manipulated the natural environment to build new things that would never would have been possible without intervention.
