This is the result of my quest for a new Facebook profile picture. Four images were used in total, the city background, clouds, the floor and of course the self portrait of me. A lot of hard work in Photoshop.

My goal was to make the photos look like vintage or Victorian-era photos. And one painting.

Kunin felt melted away in places with the heat gun. Notice it changes the color. Bad fumes though - toxic!

We had started for Inks Lake to do some bicycling in the Hill Country but when we go to Blue Hole we had it all to ourselves so we stayed for five days. Janet shot lots of photographs. Since one of Janet's favorite photographers is Imogene Cunningham, I attempted to simulate some of the Pictorialist appearance of photographs that Imogene had taken of of her husband Roi Partridge sans skivvies.

I just love this song. It is the music of my life. And the singer, no comments.

Zioptis Fireworks Experiments

Straight from camera. No manipulation.

I like taking pictures of fireworks that do NOT look like fireworks! Instead of the recommended tripod and "fireworks" setting, I move the camera in various directions using exposures ranging from 1 second to 15 seconds.

Also, I use a small complete set of Roscoe Color gel samples to wave in front of the lens to get colors not typically seen in major fireworks shows. Various glow sticks and mirrors give even more variety and textures to round out the package.

My first attempt at playing around with textures and filters on a photo I took. It's not bad...I'm sure with practice I'll get better.

Photo this work is based off of is Morning Gull. Textures used were found in Textures for Layers . Texture credits go to Chrysti and Cinzia Rizzo.

I haven't done any manipulation in quite a while, so i decided to do a new one. It's not a big deal, i know it, but i still like the final result.
