Managing Directors have no rhythm

Good morning I hope your holiday season is merry and bright :) We are coming into the man-made new year season for 2022. It's an opportunity to reflect on the last of this year and think about what you want to do different going into the next cycle.

If you're like me you probably care a lot for the people around you and you want them to be happy. This is a noble intent - to want others to be happy. The challenge is that only THEY can manage their own happiness. You can help them.. but you cannot manage it.

Each individual has a free will, and with that free will comes agency. And with that agency comes their own source of personal power and the ability to be in heaven or hell with that power. Now granted we are all born in different circumstances and it's easier for some than for others and we should all seek to help each other. But beyond mere survival circumstance, which is actually easy for most humans to achieve, the actual state of happiness is an inside job.

Once we accept that it's the role of each person to manage their own happiness, and there are actually countless ways to do it - we can take the attention off trying to make others happy and focus instead on overflowing our own happiness, which makes creating more happiness in the world, somewhat effortless.

HOW TO MANAGE YOUR OWN HAPPINESS

We spoke of each individual having free will, agency, personal power and the ability to be in heaven or hell.

Manage Project Time Effectively By PM Aura

We manage to turn a 4,500 km trip into a 6,000 km trip. But for now that's the end of it. The good news is we may finally be able to fix my bike. Remenber on the first day when we left my bike would not start, well we made it all the way to Portland with the exception of Mattawa until it broke down again. This time seems to be the right one. As we say you can't fix something that ain't broken, well now it's broken. After we completed our visit at Paradise Harley Davidson my Road King won't start and this time it's turning over but that's it. There is no tech working on Mondays so relax and see what tomorrow Lundi 19 sept 2011, la plus petite journée de promenade; 60 km.

If I were to measure the success of my various attempts at accomplishing particular goals, I’d have to divide that success into two categories. One would be the actual results from the standpoint of the stated goal. The other would be the degree to which I was able to rise above any emotional resistance, whether or not I got what I set out to get.

It may very well be that the real purpose of all our goals is the mastery of ourselves that comes from dealing with our emotional obstacles. In regard to discouragement, doubt, and depression, the three Ds, it’s especially challenging because each of these emotions carries a belief system within it that the feeling is real, that our limitations are real, and that it’s useless to resist the pull of that emotion. But resist we must.

Doubt is the feeling which makes us think that even starting the journey is futile. We are, in our estimation, hopeless, or the technology we’re being given is, in our judgment, incapable of changing anything. To combat this, we must suspend our disbelief. We must look on doubt as a suspect emotion. That is, we must turn doubt in on itself. We must doubt doubt.

The opposite of doubt is humility. We must humble ourselves before a higher authority. If Jesus, the Buddha, Wayne Dyer, Mark Victor Hansen, and I all tell you that you can succeed, who are you to argue?! Your doubtful stance represents an arrogant adherence to identification with an outmoded idea, the idea of limit and lack.

Managing Director, Sjain Ventures, Raipur

Turning Vision Into Reality

Nothing could dampen the spirits of the 17-year-old who wanted to open his company in spite of Indian laws disallowing it, due to age bar. His cousin joined hands with him and that’s how his first company Educell came into existence.

Reminisces Shreyansh, “The decision to get into education business was taken carefully by considering all the statistics and data available – 25 percent IITians join financial firms, 20-25 percent get into marketing, 20 percent into consulting, 20 percent into applied engineering and 5-7 percent get into core engineering. These calculations showed us the opportunities in entrepreneurship in the education sector. We realized that India has only a few premiere institutes and students of small towns are unable to reach them due to lack of proper mentoring.”

Through his series of books, his company minted great revenue in a very short span and Sjain series, that unveiled the strategies followed by top IITians, became an overnight success. A year later, Shreyansh opened a company called QEA Eduventure Private Limited.

The new firm started reaping rich dividends and his bank balance started swelling. Driven by the desire to excel in life, he diversified his business to launch DMS Infosystems Pvt. Ltd. at the age of 19 and then his media firm, Next Generation Media (NGM).

Transcending Barriers

The family, understandably, was not happy with Shreyansh’s choice to earn while he was studying. His father completed Ph.D. from IIT-Mumbai while his son was pursuing graduation, but he was far from supportive. Some of the partnerships, despite doing well in revenues, proved disempowering, so he has to start all over again with heavy liabilities.

Bakers bake, fishermen fish, plumbers plumb, and project managers communicate.

Managing communications is vital for any project, but it’s especially important that project managers communicate effectively. It’s a fact that PM’s that communicate effectively deliver projects on time and within budget more often than those who do not. An effective project manager spends about 90% of his time communicating and 50% of that time is spent communicating with the team.
