Wahey! Managed to recover my fluffed shots so I get the classic image to add to my collection after all. Took a fair bit of cloning and cleaning but got there in the end. Pity about the peeps but hey, scale.

I Google'd this and not surprisingly found hundreds of near identical images. Hey-ho. Couldn't not do it though, could I?

So.. lots of pictures taken with the X-E1, stitched in Microsoft ICE and then cleaned and tweaked in a bunch of other software. Threw in a shade of cross processing for that edgy, ain't I a cool dude look. Does it suit me?

Thanks for visiting and please come again soon.. no really..

Regards

Go on, dare you :D

I managed to finish work a little early . So I drove out onto Romney Marsh Looking for Little Owls they were not showing . Thus started my Red Letter two hours ! 1/ Barn owl very close 2/ a Marsh harrier in flight 3/ this Buzzard asking for a photo 4/ a Woodpecker as I sat under a tree looking for the little owls that I never got to see today . I have often spent a day getting a shot of one of these birds on the above list let alone all four in two hours

Managed to gett a couple of male Reed Bunting shots this morning before the weather closed in. Just starting to get the full black head colour for the breeding season

.......managed to get lots of shots of the beautiful blues recently. E-M1 MKII/100-400mm.

Please click on pic for a larger and nicer view :-)

Managed to shoot these two together apparently having a bit of a chat !

IN CHARACTER:

Taken at Mischief Managed.

Managed to arrive, park car, walk along the lane & scramble part way up Chrome hill just in time to watch the mist descend, managed to grab this after a 3 hour plus wait.

I managed to escape the confines of pixel world over the weekend and indulged in the human festivities they call Pride.

Whatever you're into... I hope you're having fun doing it.

My character, Aurelian, in his costume.

I had much fun meshing this mask. :D

I managed to sneak up on these elegant swans caught in a torrential downpour on the outskirts of this farmers field. My success is solely attributed to the rain which muffled my approach through the brush and brambles. I got soaked in the process but this image was worth it.

Managed to get just a handful of shots of these tiny green butterflies yesterday.

Another shot below.

managed to capture this delight while zoom-zooming in Vancouver yesterday, would love to meet the owners :)

Managed a shot with both the Muntjac & the Rabbit in. taken through triple glazing @ 7.30am on a dull morning

I managed to hold on to the notion of definitely not doing a back to back 365 until just after 11pm. That's when I took this, just in case. Don't rule it out, I said to myself.

You can tell it was a last minute decision - I am a musician (and need my fingernails) but also work a lot with my hands (ruining my fingernails). Had I thought ahead I'd have had a manicure!

This row of Maples at the front entrance have peaked and are falling fast. Managed to catch this one today against a perfect blue sky before it's too late. HTMT!

Finally managed to catch up with one of the new logojets. Seen here departing as BA580 to MXP, which was a surprise as I had read that it wasn’t operating today.

This waterfall is just downstream of the large waterfall that I often photograph in Pucks Glen, Argyll, Scotland. As this is such a sheltered spot I could easily have got the shutter speed down low enough to turn the water milky smooth but I chose this version instead as I loved the churning of the water at the base of the waterfall. I felt that it conveyed the power of the water nicely and hinted at the noise that it made in real life.

Another tree managing a stark existence on a limestone pavement!

It never ceases to amaze me how trees like this manage to flourish in such conditions. I presume the minerals from the limestone, along with meagre amounts of other nutrients washed down the fissures by rainfall are enough to sustain their life.

Anyway, this specimen is clinging on at the edge of the Scar at Newbiggin Crag. It was a very gloomy evening so it suited a mono conversion.

Thinking over and over again about the situation that happened last night with the boy she has a secret crush on, she sat in the corridor alone using her favorite spell over and over....

managed to get a small window of ok light today before the snow swept back in

Kestrel - Falco tinnunculus (M)

The common kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) is a bird of prey species belonging to the kestrel group of the falcon family Falconidae. It is also known as the European kestrel, Eurasian kestrel, or Old World kestrel. In Britain, where no other kestrel species occurs, it is generally just called "the kestrel".

This species occurs over a large range. It is widespread in Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as occasionally reaching the east coast of North America.

Kestrels can hover in still air, even indoors in barns. Because they face towards any slight wind when hovering, the common kestrel is called a "windhover" in some areas.

Unusual for falcons, plumage often differs between male and female, although as is usual with monogamous raptors the female is slightly larger than the male. This allows a pair to fill different feeding niches over their home range. Kestrels are bold and have adapted well to human encroachment, nesting in buildings and hunting by major roads. Kestrels do not build their own nests, but use nests built by other species.

Their plumage is mainly light chestnut brown with blackish spots on the upperside and buff with narrow blackish streaks on the underside; the remiges are also blackish. Unlike most raptors, they display sexual colour dimorphism with the male having fewer black spots and streaks, as well as a blue-grey cap and tail. The tail is brown with black bars in females, and has a black tip with a narrow white rim in both sexes. All common kestrels have a prominent black malar stripe like their closest relatives.

The cere, feet, and a narrow ring around the eye are bright yellow; the toenails, bill and iris are dark. Juveniles look like adult females, but the underside streaks are wider; the yellow of their bare parts is paler. Hatchlings are covered in white down feathers, changing to a buff-grey second down coat before they grow their first true plumage.

Data from Britain shows nesting pairs bringing up about 2–3 chicks on average, though this includes a considerable rate of total brood failures; actually, few pairs that do manage to fledge offspring raise less than 3 or 4. Compared to their siblings, first-hatched chicks have greater survival and recruitment probability, thought to be due to the first-hatched chicks obtaining a higher body condition when in the nest. Population cycles of prey, particularly voles, have a considerable influence on breeding success. Most common kestrels die before they reach 2 years of age; mortality up until the first birthday may be as high as 70%. At least females generally breed at one year of age; possibly, some males take a year longer to maturity as they do in related species. The biological lifespan to death from senescence can be 16 years or more, however; one was recorded to have lived almost 24 years.

Managed to get an hour, with the camera, in Glen Slig today. Had to drive through a snow storm on snowy roads to get there, but it was worth it.

Managed to snap this one as the sun was emerging over the horizon - the framing was a challenge with so much clutter

Actually managed a day out with my camera today, and had the chance to tick 2 locations off my ever-growing bucket list. This beautiful old abandoned church really tickled me, with the oak tree growing up through the middle. Unfortunately we were plagued with very harsh sunlight today, so a return trip is on the cards....;-)

While in Bosque Del Apache we decided to go out in search of the elusive Red-winged Blackbird and managed to find a few! :-)

I managed to see the Aurora on Thursday night. I took loads of photos and had such a great time. I was completely alone on my favourite beach at Rhossili (3 miles long!). Not the best Aurora shots I have seen but still happy to get anything! All shots taken in RAW and converted to jpeg images with no added saturation.

Just a pic I took for the fifth year at Mischief Managed

Entering the Darkness down the Alley....

I managed to capture the 2nd full moonrise of October on the night of Halloween. Otherwise known as a blue moon.

I made a little video showing how I took this picture, and what settings I used here youtu.be/9V0j5YRQ8YM

This truly is a fixer-upper, the owner dragged it around for years with the intention of getting it fixed, but eventually abandoned it near Inverness on Tomales Bay. It's become quite the landmark since, so much so, when the area became a protected habitat, locals managed to persuade the government to not remove it.

Probably the last of my rainy day pictures. It's expected to get sunny again today or tomorrow.

Today is day 232 of Project 365 (Thursday).

Just managed to grab a shot of the setting sun before it disappeared behind the headland of Beachy Head. Viewed from the very chilly beach at low tide at Cooden Beach, East Sussex on an early December afternoon.

I had managed to catch a mature bald eagle's flight sequence from the time it lifted off the nest, until it had its wings fully open. This shot is two seconds before the last one of the series, Power of an Eagle (20170528-151558-PJG).

This image is not cropped, taken at 600mm, with a slight exposure correction.

Enjoy!

Taken in Moncton, NB, Canada on 28 May 2017.

Managed to get a better image of the Yellow Wagtail now the rain has stopped

Managed by the National Trust, consider joining, for a photographer or historian its a ticket to some wonderful locations.

A few nights ago a mixture of a cloud inversion, then fog, rolled in over Loch Eck. The moonlight occassionally managed to find its way through to light up the Loch Eck waters.
