I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, my family and I gathered yesterday for an amazing cooking session. As you can see our hard work paid off! :D
Colorado Springs, CO - This was taken at the Family Fall Crawl Festival where they had a workstation teaching kids how to make homemade toys that were popular in the late 1800s.
I always love making Rack laugh. We could always cause each other to convulse, in that pee your pants sort of way, especially on those long walks across Lower Manhattan. Seems she can do it to Marcel too.
I wanted to get back to Rack, and wanted to get them to know each other. I would like for her to get acquainted with James, Marcel (as here), Chickenman (though she did know him already from my doctorate), the Giant Silverfish and Dolly, and the rest of this motley crew. Goya and Jacques Louis David would be there too, and Marcus Sargeant shooting blanks at the former queen from a starting pistol, back in 1981, at the junction of Horseguards Road and the Mall.
I know. It is all too much, obsessive even, this seemingly incongruous menagerie.
I guess I am doing this because of Rack. We embraced mortality from the moment we met, and still appear to be doing so, together apart, three and a half decades later. 'Embracing mortality' together for 35 years might end up being what one could describe as a 'Life'.
It somewhat reminds me of the Bee Gee's staple, 'I started a Joke'
You simply have to laugh.

Malayan Tiger +++ Male cub
Panthera tigris jacksoni
One of six living subspecies of tiger, the Malayan tiger wears the characteristic striping pattern of black stripes on orange and white that provides excellent camouflage in the forest. Using its quiet stalking ability, a tiger will ambush large prey, often pouncing on it from the rear. Other than females with their young, tigers are solitary and come together only to mate. Each tiger defends its own territory from others of the same gender. Territories must be large to provide enough prey for a tiger to eat. As more and more forests disappear, tigers struggle to maintain a territory with sufficient prey.
•A tiger may travel up to 20 miles a night in search of prey.
•Unlike most cats, tigers seem to enjoy swimming and soaking in water.
•A tiger’s roar can be heard up to two miles away.
•One out of every 10,000 tigers will lack the orange coloring. These white tigers are not albinos; they simply express a recessive gene.

When you don't have a model, you use a camera with face detect, set the timer and jump in the shot yourself. This was shot on the Fuji X-T3 with the 35mm f/2 WR lens, wide open, on the Eterna film simulation.

114 Pictures in 2014 #30 Kitchen Utensil
Spent all weekend making cards. Nothing keeps me absorbed so much as doing craft/art stuff....it's like a kind of meditation, or hypnosis. On Sunday I did a seven hour stretch and barely looked up, I even forgot to have lunch!
I'm making them in batches of four (i.e four cards with similar designs/colours) in an attempt at Mass Production! If you look closely you can see I've used bits of ripped up manuscript/maps/newspaper, and some photocopies of china fragments that I found in the Thames.
