Our next workshop is on the calendar!

Theme: "Collaboration: Makeup, Lighting, Concept"
Location: Varet Studio, Brooklyn, NY
Time: 10am-6pm
The goal of this workshop is to focus on the collaboration between the photographer and the makeup artist in achieving a given image or concept. This workshop is intended for both photographers and makeup artists and we will do our best to keep the group balanced. The workshop will be co-taught by myself and one of my regular makeup artists.
We'll be addressing certain key types of fashion and portrait images, discussing the considerations involved in each and how best to achieve the desired end result, walking through the production and styling process and shooting the resulting looks. For each look we'll separate into two groups: the photographers will receive lighting and production tutorials while makeup artists will observe and discuss the model's beauty application. Attendees will reconvene to shoot each look for themselves.
As always, this is not a "shoot-out" - you may get some decent shots, but the point of the day is to learn something new, not buff out your portfolio on the cheap. No model releases will be exchanged and there will only be one person at a time pointing a camera at anything.
As with last time, this will be first-come-first-served and we'll be keeping the group small. Anyone who had wanted to attend the last event will get a spot in this one. Registration fee will be $115 via Paypal at signup. All you need to bring is yourself and a camera, I'll supply the rest!
