Somehow I managed to do the black-silvery smokey eye makeup. It was the perfect occasion to use my new eyeshadows palette. Though my eyes are not that beautiful, I find them pretty in this photo!

Going back through this set recently had me stumbling across portraits of a dance group that all kept a monarch theme.
And thinking about monarchs reminded me of the time I happened to be in Santa Barbara in winter. It just so happens there is a tree grove in Goleta, Ellwood Grove, where monarchs flock to and lay thick on the limbs. I always thought you had to go all the way to Mexico to see such numbers.
It seems that late October is the time to see monarchs in Oklahoma!
