As we were looking for turrets, Sarah (our TA) just found this turret spider sitting out on the moss. Score! We didn't even have to dig it up, and it sat nice and still for some pics. But...

Update

Turns out this isn't a turret spider, but rather a kind of trapdoor spider in the family Cyrtaucheniidae. Rad!

In the 700 year old souk of Sidon. Haj Solih knew my family and my grandmother's family. "Everybody knows the Abu-Sabas and Saikalys are all tall, like you." He's the last mattress-maker left. A generation ago all the mattress-makers in the souk were Mizrahi Jews.
