This mailbox is a scale model of its owner's house. Unfortunately, I didn't get a shot of the real house.
Ok, the challenge said to draw a mailbox and then write about the most important piece of mail you have ever received. I guess that would be the official birth certificates of my children. And no, my mailbox doesn't normally look like this. This was actually drawn in response to a recurring dream I have. Don't know why it is over flowing. And I ADORE receiving real mail - lovely letters and cards.
i drive past this mailbox all the time. it looks pretty rough, and isn't even remotely straight in the ground. it must still be in use, the stickers are pretty new.

The infamous Black Mailbox (which isn't black anymore) is a favorite gathering place of UFO watchers. It sits at the end of a dirt road that supposedly leads off to the entrance to Area 51. It's covered with graffiti and stickers.
I'm interested in how mailboxes are protected from idle youth driving by and destroying them. This is a unique example, with ¼" steel plate just daring you to hit it. A favorite.
A peak into my vintage toy collection. I collect old toys and have several vintage mailboxes. This one is my favorite made out of wood and hardboard.
Same as this shot: www.flickr.com/photos/somerandomsequence/3121525954/ but with more snow, worse light, and a different camera (and media)
