A refrigerator magnet with a photo of mailboxes in Hong Kong. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman.
It is the first of the month so today is theme day in the City Daily Photo community. The theme is mailboxes and our contribution is this photo of a refrigerator magnet which shows mailboxes in Hong Kong. At our condo, in Greenville, we use the magnet to hold family treasures such as Crayola art from our grandsons. The magnet is embossed with a photo taken by Lisi who published Hong Kong Daily Photo for several years. So every day I enjoy family treasures and a photo from a friend from the other side of the world. This is a good example of how the City Daily Photo community brings us all closer together in understanding and acceptance. Over the years I have grown to think of Lisi as a friend as I have many others from around the world.

The mailbox of my complex. I really love the symetric side of this picture, it makes them look like prisonners. Hopefully for my mails, I take them everyday out of this jail :)

These are 2 ATC's that I created for the interactive ATC swap on swap-bot in the ZMACS group.
The mailbox is a little one that I bought for a $1.00 at a flea market this spring. It sits on a shelf with a similar prize from Carroll.
I cut open the photo with an x-acto knife and made little security envelopes that fit inside. The sleeves were made from a 1940 stamp album that I just bought on vacation, stamp selvedges, and vellum tape.
Part of some tie-in promotion re. the 30th anniversary of Star Wars - the US Postal Service and Lucasfilm have turned some on street mailboxes into R2-D2 facsimilies.
This one is on Cary Street, near the Kroger.
The Mailbox is an upmarket shopping and office development in the City Centre of Birmingham, England. It serves as the base for BBC Birmingham and houses one of six Harvey Nichols department stores.
The Mailbox is about 300 metres (980 ft) long from front to back including The Cube. Above the front shops it has an additional 6 floors which includes a Malmaison hotel and residential apartments. The Worcester and Birmingham Canal passes along the back with a number of restaurants overlooking.
