My Mailbox was in desperate need of a protective stain, so that was my Saturday project. I have to wait for the nest of bluebirds to fly away from the under side of my mailbox before I can set the varnish, but this will be a good start!

Saw this near Westlake and 7th. The mailbox for the board of tax appeals.

Mailboxes! I dunno - just caught my eye...

Mailbox parking approach at dusk. I was the last car to leave.

I have passed by this mailbox for years, always telling myself that one day I would find a place to park so that I could take a picture of it. Today was the day.

I love that the sign behind the mailbox reads "Darth Vader Dr"

I love this picture. I think it might be the best one I've ever taken. I use it on LJ as an icon when I'm making an announcement

This is my lovely mailbox.

This mailbox was a real find--a type I've been wanting to locate for a long time! I owe seeing it to my friend Duane (cyberastrofolkie)! We were driving around the Catskills, looking for covered bridges, when he noticed this covered bridge mailbox--the first one I've ever seen! Ironically, the covered bridge in this area is no longer accessible to the public, being on private land. The mailbox, however, is right on the main road in Claryville, New York, USA, where we saw it on September 2, 2010.

A mailbox in the form of a concrete manatee on DeSoto Road in Sarasota. We see it mostly when driving to or from Sarasota airport.

This mailbox has been in place for many years. It was vandalized a few years ago, but the owners replaced it. A similar mailbox in the shape of a dolphin was installed more recently, also on DeSoto Road.

Manatees are locally popular. Two of them are kept in Mote Aquarium., where they are fed vast quantities of romaine lettuce.

If my memory serves, this was my mailbox for over 40 years at Southern Wesleyan University. These boxes were moved from Grimes Hall, when it was torn down, to another location, and are now in the Student Life Center. As you can see, the numbers got a little worn over the years.

I received many important items through this box, and even more that weren't so important. The important ones far outweighed the trivial.

Sometimes a photo doesn't have much purpose other than to record something which had a visual appeal.

These mailboxes were in a little entryway between stores in Toronto's Chinatown and I liked the contrast between the steel and the green wall.

Capturing it was a bit difficult because when I backed up against the other wall, I couldn't get all the mailboxes into my viewfinder. There just wasn't enough room. I did, however, manage to get myself out from between the camera and the wall, hold the camera almost against the wall and use a bit of guesswork in framing it.

The Mailbox itself, never seems very well patronised to me.

The restaurants and bars at the back are generally first rate, but the shopping section is dull, dreary, freezing cold and completely lacking in any kind of atmosphere.

I was there at lunchtime yesterday and the shops were deserted.

There is a quite interesting gallery at the back, but expensive - although the works are all original and one off. This is more than can be said for Harvey Nick's and most of the other outlets; which are all hideously expensive and full of mundane, derivative, copycat tat.

The rents etc must be sky high. I don't reckon the shops in this place will be there for much longer.

The Architectural Mailboxes Medium Oasis mailbox sets a new standard in mailbox design by providing a hopper door to accept parcels. This large locking curbside mailbox can receive small to medium sized packages. It is assembled almost exclusively by spot welding and welded lap joints.
