A general view of the space in front of my bed. Great for movie-watching sessions, working with the hackintosh when needed, and offering lots of storage in these boxes. You can't imagine what fits in there. Believe me!

In my 2010 three-six-five I posted a photograph of my 'space'. Things have changes quite a bit since then (and by quite a bit I mean completely, totally and utterly!!)
So, this is where I hang out now :)
In a small corner of my studio the desk folds almost flat against the wall, leaving just a small shelf for the keyboard, mouse and track pad to live. This means I can shoot tethered, work or edit standing up, or just simply fold the desk back out and use my draughtsman's chair to be the correct height sitting down. It's a perfect piece of Italian engineering - and it looks pretty, too.
This shot pretty much tells the story of this year's Christmas holiday: Got myself the Magic Mouse in the foreground, will be stuck with the work in the background and play around with the old Metz flash on the right, which my father-in-law just found in the depths of his shelves.
Strobist Info: Metz mecablitz 32 Z-2 from the right, triggered by Yongnuo RF-602TX/RF-602RX.
This is my main typing desk while I'm doing my final year dissertation. I've cleared everything off it, and from around it, until it is just the stuff I need to do the work! That means my G4 Cube has been put in a box for the moment, along with the extra Apple keyboard I keep around for FB chat on my iPad. At least it gets rid of some of the distractions! No doubt that will change as soon as I have some free time again!
Most of this stuff I've generally accumulated from eBay in keeping with my student budget, the Harmon Kardon Soundsticks, iMac 21.5" i3, iPad and its dock.
Thanks for reading!
A closer view of what sits on my desk in our office... Too see a wider angle view and more stuff Click Here, the description on the other photo also goes into much more detail about what I use and how I use it.
In short, about 5 years ago I uploaded a photo (now quite outdated) of what my desk looked like and the computing technology that I used... but now long overdue I have upgraded and replaced quite a bit. Things are now much simpler and easier to use... oh and I finally made the switch to Mac and have been loving life on OS-X.
What this photo shows is:
A 30" NEC monitor connected to an Apple Hex Core 3.33Ghz. Mac Pro w/12GB of RAM, dual 50GB OWC Solid State Drives(SSD), four 2TB Western Digital Black hard drives and a NewerTech eSATA card and two external 500GB Western Digital Studio Edition hard drives. The desktop has an Apple Wireless Keyboard, a Magic Trackpad and a Magic Mouse connected via Bluetooth and a Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 keyboard and a Microsoft LaserMouse6000 connected via USB2 sitting on a HumanScale 4G keyboard tray (it's designed for the Microsoft 'natural' form factor). Finally the Mac Pro has a Wacom Intuos3 tablet and a set of Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers.
Laptop - An Apple 15" MacBookPro Core i5 2.4Ghz. notebook with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB Seagate MomentusXT hard drive (which also includes a 4GB SSD cache), with the upgraded high res. display. Attached is a 500GB G-Tech G-Drive Mini and a 1TB OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro external drives connected via Firewire800 and an Apple MagicMouse via Bluetooth.
There is more going on in terms of networking, storage, etc. but if you want to know more about that, click on this other image.

So its the start of my second year in a couple more weeks. Thought i'd share how my desk area is looking.
Also spent this morning rewiring my new purchase a Type 746 telephone in two tone green, to work with a modern BT telephone and it runs flawlessly, no issues at all. I'll defo be buying some more to convert and sell on. This one however, I'm keeping as it matches the other olive green objects around my room pretty well. Just now awaiting my telephone socket to get fitted and all will be set!!
I'm actually looking forward to getting an iMac in the coming weeks, my current 27'' is a tad too large and it takes up quite a bit of desk space. This display will eventually be wall mounted and work as a media centre with my MBP

I ordered this Twitter Mousepad from Meninos just before Christmas and it arrived today. It cost around £12.50 with shipping, so a great price. The quality of the cloth material is excellent and my Magic Mouse glides across it. Well impressed.
27" iMac, Quad-core i5, 16GB of ram, Intel 510 120GB SSD, 1TB external, plugged into a older 30" cinema display via display port adapter.
Also pictured, 13" Macbook Air, 2TB Apple Time Capsule, iPad 2, and AT&T Microcell.
This place sure has changed over the years
iMac, Genius speaker set, Magic Trackpad, Apple Qireless Keyboard, iPad 2. What else could I ask for?
Lately, I've been lazy to go out and shoot, so I decided to shoot random stuff around the house. In this photo: A 27 inch Imac, wireless keyboard, the magic mouse and if you look closely in the background, you can also see a Macbook, Canon 50d, and 3 Canon lenses. These are just a few of my favorite things. ^_^
This shot is also dedicated to my Mac user friends here on flickr..
Taken with a Canon 450d,
Thank you for viewing.
Need to upgrade the monitor and get a qi charger. I also need more IKEA BILLY shelving, and another ALEX...

Here is yesterday's shot. I was pretty much a lazy bum on this one and elected to spend some time gaming instead of doing anything productive... That is, if you don't consider the slaughter of thousands of digital zombies to be productive.
Here's the desk in the office lying in wait.
Canon 5D Mark II | EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Lit by the Mac.
I cut the 1.20 x 0.60 VIKA AMON to 1.10 x 0.60 to fit the wall space, and have no regrets over that decision. I don't miss any of the area suntracted after cutting the desk, since I am using the extra shelf as a monitor stand and can hide the keyboard under it.

I thought my temporary workspace looked really nice as the spring sun was shining through the window, so I decided to snap a pic :)
Hahaha, yesterday I made this funny shot from a my idea.
Do you like it?

Day 27 - January 27, 2010
Woke up today thinking to myself, "I would like my next photo to have plenty of light and if possible I want my subject to be white."
Little did I know that I'd soon have a shiny, white, new toy to photograph.
Happy Bokeh Wednesday everyone.
Uploading this early so I can go out and play! =)
BSSR House, 2011. Huib van Wijk, architect.
Minimalism has grown a lot over the past few years. The natural light and the empty space seem to communicate more than the space that is filled up with something.
People say that you have clearer thought patterns when there is less around you. Others say you just need a clean, minimal workspace. Well it comes down to personal preference and what type of person you are in the end. Some people like to have a messy work area and others totally hate it when there is anything out of place.
