Stuff in my bag

This is my second of my 365! I had an idea for a photo and when I started setting it up this photo just kind of happened! I quickly realized that this will happily happen probably quite often. I am not going to make every photo black and white but the light in our apartment is horrible so it is quite tough to get a good shot with proper colors, maybe after doing this for a while I might garner the skills to make a decent low light shot that doesnt have to be turned into black and white!

After months of waiting, my local reseller finally had the Magic Mouse in stock.

Explore #47 on Feb 14, 2010

They called it the Magic Mouse. They knew it's potential.

I really love how the bokeh in this photo has adapted to the curved surface of the mouse (as a reflection). And then the reflection down on the table. An absolute delight.

Processed with VSCOcam with b4 preset

I wish I could post more often but I just kind of lost interest, as I have no one I like to shoot or proper conditions to do it. So sorry, I will (eventually) be back :'(

Hello again,

It's almost a month ago since I was on Flickr. The reason was that my Macbook Pro crashed. The first few weeks I tried to repair the MBP myself, with information I found on the internet but the problem wasn't based on a software issue. The next step was sending it towards an apple store but the costs of repairing a two year old laptop were to high in my opinion. The result? I bought an iMac.

Secondly, I was obliged to send my newly acquired Sigma 85 1.4 back to the service center of the company. This due to the lack of autofocus. The lens just stopped focussing from one day to another... :)

LINKS DISCUSSION THREADS IN SEVERAL E-ZINES

lifehacker.com/5857093/the-library-workspace

"The Library Workspace. Never let anyone tell you that organization can't be beautiful. Today's featured workspace, from Flickr user iBSSR, makes an entire wall of shelving its centerpiece. Filled with colorful books and decorative items, it makes for both a practical and attractive home office.

The wall-based bookcase was designed by architect Huib van Wijk and looks like a somewhat large undertaking, but the results are beautiful. If you like this, you'll want to check out the other smaller wall bookcase as well, November 7, 2011".

"Workspace of the Week: Dutch details. This week’s (October 28, 2011) Workspace of the Week is iBSSR’s minimalist Mac office space: This selection is located in a minimalist house recently built in Parkstad Heerlen, the Netherlands. (It’s in the southern Limburg province of the Netherlands.) The name of the house is “Minimum to the Max,” which I believe also aptly describes the feel of this room. In the desk and workspace area, there are only computers, desks, task lighting, and chairs. Likely, when the space is in use, there are also project materials strewn about the desks. However, at the end of the day, all items are put away and stored on the bookcase. The bookcase is built into the wall and was part of the original design of the home. Without the bookcase, the space would feel empty or impersonal. With the bookcase, the space transforms into an inspiring studio that can provide clarity and creativity. The long window that runs along the wall opposite of the bookshelf is also nice for bringing natural light into the space. Thank you, iBSSR, for sharing your minimalist space with us, October 28, 2011".

"Bibliophilia: Combining Library with Home Office. It's natural to try and combine rooms when you haven't got enough space, but many people use their home office as an ad hoc library to store their books. Granted, sometimes they end up in piles near a desk, but books are something that bibliophiles love, so they are worth making the effort to store them adequately. In order to maximize your storage space, we recommend getting wall to wall bookcases or shelves. You will be able to find some that fit standard rooms, but anything higher than the norm will most probably require something custom-made (images: Flickr member iBSSR), November 10, 2011".

creativeoverflow.net/showcasing-30-minimalistic-workspaces/

People say that you have clearer thought patterns when there is less around you. Others say you just need a clean, minimal workspace. Well it comes down to personal preference and what type of person you are in the end. Some people like to have a messy work area and others totally hate it when there is anything out of place. Minimalism has grown a lot over the past few years when it comes to the workplace and I’d love to see it grow even more, October 25, 2011.

Todays challenge for the daily shoot was Imagine you've been commissioned to photograph a product for a company's marketing dept. Give us your best product shot.

So As our cat often likes sittign at my computer table when I am at work it inspired this shot, the reason for the ? is to me her look doesnt really look friendly more like a look of contempt with m puttingthe mouse so close to her

Lovely Finder reflexion on the iPhone EDGE

This is my recent setup optimized for doing my research. I mainly use OS X, but I also run Windows for embedded system programming and Linux for running Simics VM. All of them are virtualized within VMWare Fusion.

In the photo, there are four screens but are actually only two Macs on the 72-inch wide desk. I found this setting to be useful because it's portable and the load can be balanced between the two. There are several other computers in my room for server and simulation purposes.

All the computers are synchronized using Unison, and controlled by a single set of keyboard and mouse using Synergy. I modified the source code of Synergy so that it supports Magic Mouse perfectly (the original version uses some deprecated APIs which doesn't support pixel-based scrolling).

Thanks to the GoodReader application on iPad, I can read all the books and papers even when I'm on the go. I need to hide the annoying iPad's white USB cable, but the iPad's power issue makes the problem a bit difficult to solve.

Not exactly what I wanted but not in the mood so much today.

iPad is a Wi-Fi 64 GB version (another one behind is a 16 GB version).

Today I bought the new Apple Magic Mouse for my Mac Book Pro. I love going into the Apple Stores in the different cities I travel to, .....this shot is from the new Apple Store in Ottawa......:-)))

An apple a day... virtually all of my hardware has the apple logo these days.

Sigh. I'm a geek.

Finally got around to setting up my new workspace, still a bit rough and ready around the edges but getting there now.

This was meant to be just a cheap temporary desk (from IKEA) but I actually quite like it so might end up keeping it!

Still to do: Lighting and cable management, as well as a bit of organising the final position of the screens.

I am refering to Apple newest "Magic Mouse" . You see, my Mac Book Pro LCD screen decided to stop working and had to wait to get the new computer which came with one. I'm trying to get used to it. :)

So much catch up to do....

Download the file here. Link back if it is used as texture.

Squeeky little pig and the one eyed green monster

Apple really creates fantastic devices in terms of aesthetics ( most important), usability and function. John Ive and his team always make me go wow. This particular shot is dedicated to all you Apple Fan boys and girls and Apple's amazing product designers.

My new 27" iMac and table from IKEA (Galant).

I'm in the process of switching from using Microsoft Windows and I'm headed to Apple land... We have replaced our over four year old HP nc8320 laptop, and will be replacing our desktop in the coming months (waiting for Apple to update the Mac Pro).

I've used Microsoft product since MS-DOS 3.3, and have been a career IT person for over fifteen years (mostly as a server systems engineer designing mostly Microsoft systems), and while I will continue to keep up on MSFT stuff and continue to use them for the technology side of my work life, at home... I'm pretty much finished with Microsoft. While OS-X has some issues, it's a far nicer system to use (all the power of UNIX with the best UI I've ever seen) especially if you want to do photo or video editing.

Gear in the Frame:

Apple 15" MacBook Pro

Core i5 2.4Ghz. CPU (not worth spending the $$ on the Core i7, especially when this won't be my primary editing machine and especially when $300 only buys me 10% more performance)

4GB of RAM (going to 8GB pretty quick)

500GB 7200RPM Segate Momentus XT Hard Drive (this is a great drive that comes with a 4GB SSD cache)

High Res Screen (but not the Anti-Glare screen, clients love looking at images on the glossy screen)

G-Tech G Drive mini 500GB Hard Drive

Wacom Intuos 3 4" x 6" Tablet

Gretagmacbeth Eye-One Display 2 Colorimeter

Calumet UDMA Firewire CF Reader

Apple Magic Mouse

Garmin eTrex Summit HC

Software:

OS-X 10.6.4

Windows 7 Ultimate (running inside of VMWare Fusion)

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

Adobe CS5 Design Extended

RoboGeo (Run under Windows 7 for geotagging)

haven't done a panorama in years. this isn't really good but it's quite alright, isn't it?
