Television stations produced their own localized versions of the Romper Room children's TV show beginning in the 1950s. This form letter from "Miss Marcia" probably came from Marcia Kaplan, who was the hostess of the show that aired on WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

See other examples of this form letter signed by Miss Nancy and Miss Sallly. For a photo of an unidentified hostess, see Romper Room, WGAL-TV, Lancaster, Pa., ca. 1950s.

Dear Mitchell,

Thank you very much for the nice letter you wrote me. I am so glad you are one of my good friends and that you have so much fun with us each day in the Romper Room School. I've seen you in my Magic Mirror and I know you are a good "Do-Bee." I'll see you tomorrow in the Romper Room School.

Your friend,

Miss Marcia

I shall call on you for an interview for Romper Room.

Dress by me. Used vintage indian dupatta, added some red glass beads for color.

Another half of my complete Snow White collection.

Snow White and her Step Mother the Evil Queen Grimhilde are my two favourite Disney characters, and Snow White and the Seven Drawves is, of course, my favourite Disney Movie. Naturally, these two characters make up the majority of my Disney collection. In the photo's you can see various types of merchandise mostly purchased from the Disney Store but also from Hallmark and even random collector stores in my area. I can't say I have one favourite in particular, but to name a few: Evil Queen Art Plate, Evil Queen Designer Villain Doll, and my Swarovski Happy Figurine, I did just purchase the 2011 Designer Snow White on Ebay (for a relative steal at $160), and I have a feeling once she arrives she'll be added to my list of favourites.

“A Little Tale”…

Imprisoned inside this ancient mirror, once beautiful silver, but, now tarnished, is the spirit of a young human female who possesses great magical powers.

She can predict the future, see your past, and, if you wish, change your past and/or present, and grant wishes.

The spirit comes only to the one who owns the mirror. To summon her, the owner must recite an ancient rhyme, which, sadly, puts the curse again on the trapped spirit in the mirror and causes her to remain there without escape.

The one who recites the rhyme, in most cases, calls her for something they want or need, but, probably has no idea, after all these eons, that he or she is keeping the once young girl doomed to continue residing in the mirror and be at the owner’s beck and call.

However, one wonders, if the owner knew that he or she is responsible for keeping the spirit trapped within the mirror by reciting the rhyme to call her and request something, would he or she, stop doing so? Human nature being what it is; personal greed, desire, and want are very powerful emotions and, well, one’s own needs might just come before setting another free.

The complete story of this imprisoned spirit in the magic mirror will be posted on my blog, Enchanticals, the week of April 9th. Here is the magical link that will bring you to this story:

Main Street, Disneyana. 'Doubly Sure' by Joe Yakovetic. Original artwork, $10,000. Magic Mirror side, showing my reflection in the mirror. Replica Snow White storybook is on the base.

I visited Disneyland on Sunday March 6, 2016. It was mostly sunny, with a light crowd. I got a few newly released items, most of which I hadn't known about beforehand. At the World of Disney, they had the several new OE pins, including the Alice in Wonderland Drink Me Bottle pin ($11.99), the Cinderella Glass Slipper Sculpted Pin ($13.99) and the Baby Anna and Elsa 2 Pin Set ($13.99). In the World of Disney and the Main Street Emporium, they had the BB-8 spinning keychain, with light and sound effects ($12.99). Before I left Disneyland, I checked the Emporium, and they were already sold out of the BB-8 keychains, only about two hours after I bought mine.

Disneyana had a new original artwork on display. It was called 'Doubly Sure' by Joe Yakovetic. It had the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and a replica of the Snow White storybook. On the other side is a portrait of the Evil Queen, holding the heart box. It is for sale for $10,000. I have a copy of the Evil Queen portrait as a gallery wrapped giclee on canvas. The Disney Gallery (next to Disneyana) has an exhibit on Disney's railroads. It included information and photos of Disney's personal 1/8 scale model railroad, and the railroads at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. There are also some artwork on Disney's railroads for sale in Disneyana. I got the #1 score at Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. I ate lunch at the Plaza Inn and left the park shortly thereafter.

I actually really love doing flatlays for dolls too because the sun just makes their little faces show so~ well. I don't have the best studio lighting so, sunlight is my favorite.

Still using some rainy day colors to make the cute blue papers to pop.

A pic of my Flameborne twins, Adriel and Adriel, and their newest companion, a fire djinn named Ember.

The Evil Queen isn't happy about what The Magic Mirror had to say...that she is no longer the fairest of them all. No doubt this is not going to make her day.

Some of my purchases in Disneyland, on Sunday April 6, 2014.

Olszewski Gallery of Light Collection: Evil Queen at the Mirror. This miniature diorama shows the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs facing the Magic Mirror. There are the twelve signs of the Zodiac surrounding the Mirror. The Face in the Magic Mirror is lit by LEDs in an alternating series of differently colored lights, including blue, green and red. Price: $95.

I visited Disneyland on April 6, 2014. It was warm (mid 70s) with a light crowd.

The water fountain in Downtown Disney, in front of Brea Bakery, was working again after several months. It has spectacular repeating display of water jets and flows that cycles every minute or so. It shoots up water like a geyser possibly a hundred feet in the air that lasts several seconds, then smaller jets in a circular pattern form around the taller central jet that gradually subsides.

The World of Disney had the newly released Disney Parks Princess mini dolls, in two sets of four dolls each. The first set had Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora and Belle. The second set had Ariel (in green Park dress), Jasmine, Rapunzel and Merida (in dark teal Adventure dress). They were still selling the old style first set (which also had Tiana), and the new first set were not much different than the old one (first released in 2011). But the second set had a brand new Ariel and Merida dolls, so I was much more interested in that set. Nevertheless, I bought both sets, at $29.95 each. I also got a newly released Nightmare Before Christmas playing card set (in a coffin shaped package), a folding NBX umbrella, and a Minnie Ink and Paint LE Pin from World of Disney.

In the Disneyana shop on Main Street I got a Gallery of Light diorama of the Wicked Queen facing the Magic Mirror. I got a good score in Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, but the score wasn't saved by the system, and the Top Ten leader board was down. Finally I got an Olaf candy apple from the Main Street Candy Palace.

It was a very good shopping day at Disneyland.

My Magic Mirror Olwen
