The sun was setting and I spotted this boat catching the light, I ran over to get a few snaps of this boat called 'Aimz' and the beautiful harbour. I also got a

similar shot with a slightly different composition. The 'magic hour' is my favorite time to photograph and I was lucky to catch the 'magic light' on this boat.

While we were in Sedona, we saw many beautiful pictures of Cathedral Rock. It is the most photographed location in Sedona, and the folks at the visitor center were able to tell us exactly where to go to take this picture. It was taken at the Red Rock Crossing/Crescent Moon Ranch Picnic Area in Sedona, Arizona. Because the range of light was more than the camera sensor could handle, I bracketed using three exposures, and then combined them using HDR sofware from Photomatix Pro.

Sechseläuten is the celebration of the end of Winter in Zurich ( at the middle of April), with the culmination being the burning of the Böögg, a snowman perched atop a huge bonfire. It is a half day public holiday in Zurich

The burning of the Böögg snowman is said to determine the quality of the Summer to come. The bonfire is lit from below and once the flames reach the snowman, the excitement in the very large crowd grows.

The "dance" of participants around the fire is real fantastical.

Los Angeles truly has one of the best lights ever.

Golden light at the end of the day spills through the forest and onto the growing ferns.

Thanks for looking!

A series of typical shapes of Lofoten.

Lofoten is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway. Lofoten has distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands. Its largest town, Leknes, is approximately 169 km (105 mi) inside the Arctic Circle and approximately 2,420 km (1,500 mi) away from the North Pole, making Lofoten one of the world's northernmost populated regions. Though lying within the Arctic Circle, the archipelago experiences one of the world's largest elevated temperature anomalies relative to its high latitude.

Lofoten (Old Norse: Lófót) was the original name of the island Vestvågøya. The first element is ló (i.e., "lynx") and the last element is derived from Norse fótr (i.e., "foot"), as the shape of the island must have been compared with that of a lynx's foot. (The old name of the neighbouring island Flakstadøya was Vargfót, "wolf's foot", from vargr "wolf".)

Lofotr was originally the name of the island of Vestvågøy only. Later it became the name of the chain of islands. The chain of islands with its pointed peaks looks like a lynx foot from the mainland. In Norwegian, it is always a singular. Another name one might come across, is "Lofotveggen" or the Lofoten wall. The archipelago looks like a closed wall when seen from elevated points around Bodø or when arriving from the sea, some 100 kilometres (62 miles) long, and 800–1,000 metres (2,600–3,300 feet) high.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OM-D E-M1 with lens Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO. HDR assembled from 3 bracketed exposures taken hand held at f/5.6, ISO 200.

Not much done to this one because I like the sundown light (*magic) so much.

Was trying to get a back-lit silhouette of the castle. After having seen this show before, I knew the lights would be off (the castle) for about three seconds. Was hoping there would be enough fire power behind it to pull it off, and that the clock and light in the window would show through... Think I got it.

I used my tripod to create this image. I was hoping I had enough time for the long exposure time I needed. Well as you see I had enough time :-)

Taken on a hiking trip in the northwest city Molde in januar 2010. The light in the moment was unike, and made a magic lightcast over the fjord, mountains and the bridge that binds the people in the area to the sourroundings.

My friend Natasha serenaded us while we cut and pasted and went pretty nuts before the wedding.

The road that leads from Trapani to Marsala, along the lagoon that welcomes Mozia, is bordered by salt marshes that offer a beautiful view: the bodies of water divided by narrow strips of land forming an irregular and multicolored chessboard. At times it appears in the middle of the silhouette of a windmill, a reminder of a time when it was one of the main tools to pump water and grind the salt. The show is more amazing in the summer, at harvest, when the rosy hues of the water in the various tanks and the tanks as you step inside, now dried up. glisten in the sun.

I photographed this last Saturday. It is a fence which starts along the road and stops under water. In the barbwire there were all kinds of deteriorated things hanging in the wind, this is all filtered out of the water. The fence itself, it's rusty and old it is absolutely in decay.
