You can tell from the length of our shadows that the sun was at it best for the sweet light that just envelopes all that it touches. This image is from a group that I took at the Ritz Carlton Hotel out at Lake Las Vegas
A bouquet of lovely flowers from a wedding we shot in the spring. If you must know, me and magic light kinda have a 'thing.' Sidenote: does this look weirdly pixelated to you? This seems to be a regular problem for me these days.
Oh hells, yes—it's FRIDAY.
We were at the beach and I saw these kids running and the light was wonderful, so I had to take this picture.
at The Harbor ~ Doesn't that sound like the 'title' of a good romance/mystery novel? This image would probably look pretty good on the cover, too! Now, if I could only come up with a good story... Saturday night sunset ~ Islamorada, Florida ~ Florida Keys

About an hour before sunset and the refraction of light within and through a veil of cloud cover makes for a surreal winter scene. Engineer Jerry Miller is poised to swing his butted 45’s down and ‘round the bend westward. He and his conductor have just spotted five covered hoppers under the Hite spout. With everything buttoned up, handbrakes spun on the spot, Fred hung, a quick set and release, the conductor gives Miller the highball to proceed into a boreal martianscape. (01Mar17 ©)

Last night, I got a call at the studio from my wife's niece letting me know about a beautiful double rainbow that had developed over the city.
I quickly got my gear together and went outside, and wasn't disappointed. The rainbow was really cool (see www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=474828&id=78144910006 for more pictures from this 30-minute "shoot"), but it was the post-rainbow light, which surged, ebbed, and flowed as clouds shifted and the sun lowered that really got my attention.

Earlier as the dusk settled in, and after the visitors of Cagsawa park has left, the only sound you'll here is the singing of an andante tune, a melancholic and soft tune. I followed it and ended up here.
The scene was perfect. The westbound sun left a trail on the western horizon some light, and the clouds let it pass though to sketch Mt. Mayon's slope. The singing came from here. They were locals saying an evening prayer. A constant reminder of how hope builds among people, and among people who are at peace with God.

I am still going through some shots from back in 2009 and process or re-process some of them. Sometimes I am quite surprised, why they haven't made the first cut, when I initially sorted them out. But I guess going through 5,000+ photos returning from a trip, I am excused to overlook one or the other ;).
Antelope Slots is one of those places, I'd like to go back to some time. It's been a fantastic experience besides the mass of people going in and out all the time. Most important thing is to have a good guide who gets the people out of the way for you to take the shot you want. Bonnie was fantastic at this and I got home with some great results.
I am still going through more shots from the past and working hard on my website. Lots more photos shall be online within the next few weeks. Still missing galleries for people and cities and some of the shots, I am still digging out from the past or have to not come to work on yet.
cheers,
André
Scott and I are in Palm Springs. We earned this quick weekend getaway, I think—long story. With Scotty's support I've come to a healthy decision for me, and I can assure you, I will be around far more frequently from here on out. Not only do I miss all the inspiration from Flickr, but I miss feeling like myself. Things are about to positively change for me and us. I will be delighted to see what you've all been up to, lately.

After saying goodbye to my Friend who’s accepted an Engineer position with the Canadian National in the Midwest, I wasn’t quite ready to head back to my pad and actually had some company business to take care of while in the Panhandle. Most of the morning and early afternoon proved difficult for photographic possibilities: even for my taste. It seemed there would be no opportunity to combine pleasure with business this day. But I listened to my gut instinct and decided to wait it out for favorable combinators to work their magic. Not until she lay her head down to slumber on a pillow of December-down-frosted mountains did she shine so fine through her evening negligee of chiffon clouds as the tail end of a BNSF westbound slips over the windblown Pend Oreille waving goodbye to a bittersweet day. Bon chance mon Ami! Stay tuned for "Fortuna Redux ~ Part One" (06Dec17 ©)

Taken in Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand on October 2nd, 2007
Beaches in Abel Tasman are, simply, what beaches should be: covered in golden sands and washed by incredibly clear turquoise waters. I wanted to represent this ideal beach in this photo by giving equal weight to the sand and the water, both of which show resplendently pure colors under a deep blue sky.
