"Poets, like the blind, can see in the dark."

A little homage to the Argentinian poet Jorge Luis Borges, one of the greatest writers of all time. This video was shot in the winter of 2010 in Buenos Aires and Capilla del Señor, Argentina.
Directed and shot by me with a Canon 5d. I edited and color graded it in Final Cut Pro using Twixtor, Knoll Light Factory and Magic Bullet.

The Greater Manchester Fringe staged Robots of Death and Storm Mine with a full cast and Paul Darrow – famed as Avon in BBC TV’s Blake’s 7 – reprising the part of Kaston Iago in both productions for the premiere on 1 July 2012 at Fab Cafe. This was the first time he has ever played the part live, and is an amazing treat for fans of Doctor Who, Blake’s 7 and sci-fi fans.
Robots of Death is considered by many fans to be Doctor Who‘s golden era, a Tom Baker classic from 1977, and was voted in the top 10 by fans in Doctor Who Magazine‘s poll of polls in 2009. As with January’s production of Midnight, neither the Doctor nor his 1977 companion Leela featured in Robots of Death, but instead this classic Doctor Who story was adapted to feature the main characters from Magic Bullet’s series of audio adventures – Kaston Iago and Elska Blayes.
The adaptation of Robots of Death was undertaken by Alan Stevens, mastermind behind the Magic Bullet Kaldor City audios and was based on original writer Chris Boucher’s rehearsal scripts. It added a new dimension to this classic tale, whilst remaining consistent with both the original Doctor Who tale and the Kaldor City audios.

Design Description: "The Nazca Lines in Peru. Some say they were etched in the earth so as the ‘gods’ would see them and be honoured. Others say the lines would serve as a landing strip for the spaceships of these ‘gods’. And there are those who think it was all an egocentric artistic trip by a handful of indigenous dudes. Whatever the case, one can only attain a decent view of the Nazca Lines from the air, and many say that speaks volumes for their intention."

I visited the Senso-ji temple area in Tokyo yesterday and made a short film of the visit. The temple was built in the 7th century for the worship of Bodhisattva Kannon. It was also designated a sacred site of prayer for the shogunate by shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616).
Filmed on Canon 5D Mark II with 24-105 f4 IS, 16-35 f2.8 and 70-200 f4 IS, most of the shots from a tripod with Manfrotto 503HDV head, a few by hand, all with my Zacuto Z-Finder Pro 2.5x. Time lapses done with a Yongnuo Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3a.
Edited in Adobe Premiere CS5, color graded with Magic Bullet. Time lapses created with Quicktime 7 Pro.

I was rather pleased with the results from the 8mm iPhone app Room 207 but I wanted to try a similar lo fi look using the shallow depth of field of a larger sensor camera. I shot this in about 5 minutes not really intending to upload but rather to test out some processing but I ended making a short video anyway...
The dust and scratches are from Magic Bullet Misfire whilst the B&W conversion, grain and all the other effects were done in Magic Bullet Looks.
Shot entirely on the Panasonic GH2 with the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 between f/0.95 and f/2. I do like the close focussing capabilities of this lens (18cm).

Still havent gotten round to developing the recent rolls i shot through this...
OK, I branched out a littttle too soon. It needed a bit more sweet. Here's what's in there:
1 banana
1 big leaf kale
1 small handful parsley
2 chunks pineapple
1 date
hemp milk to cover
3 ice cubes
It's fine, but a little too veggie-tasting. Though maybe if I keep at it, that will taste more normal?
A short video I created for my friend Taylor's wedding.
I don't really shoot Weddings but Taylor shot my wedding for me 6 years ago so when he called and asked if I would be a guest and shoot some footage of course I said yes.
Shot on a Canon 5D Mark II & Panasonic AF100

Spent some time with my friend's brother in Vegas to shoot a quick preview of a new track that he is working on. He wanted to give a teaser to update his fans with. No script. Just showed up and shot.
- Canon 7D
- Merlin Steadicam
- Xoom pocket recorder
- Canon 50mm 1.8 prime lens
- ISO 1600, no lighting just ambient
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Color grading via Magic Bullet
Shot at 9PM so really had to boost the ISO as there was only ambient light.

Carla Pinto is one of the upcoming actresses in London, she lent us 10 minutes of her busy actress life and made this very funny sketch.
First time with the aspect ratio 2:35 to 1 which looks amazing too.
Magic bullet color correction and obviously the 5D on her very best.

Otra composición otoñal al atardecer. Qué remedio, si en Holanda a cualquier hora del día cualquier día del año parece que sea otoño al atardecer.
The Bathouse is a recording studio designed for and by musicians located on the shores of Lake Ontario between Toronto and Montreal. The Bathouse Studio offers the best in vintage analog and digital recording. Competitive rates include on-site accommodations for eight people and an incredible atmosphere for any musical project.
The main house, built in 1842, once served as a coach house for traffic on the road between Kingston and Toronto. Today, fully restored and recently rennovated, the Bathouse is one of the last residential recording facilities in Canada. The environment is conducive to creativity, productivity and relaxation.
The swimming pool, hockey pond, billiards room, house movie/LP collections and neighbouring 18 hole golf course offer plenty to do between takes.

Projecting 16mm film in the back yard. Part of a film project I've been working on re-editing. The footage is actually from a telecine and composited. I would have liked this to be actual projection, but don't have a copy of the Rice speech on 16mm. I was actually projecting old Hearst/Hostess Bakery newsreels. Day-for-night look by Magic Bullet Looks. Canon VIXIA HF10.
My second Panasonic GH2 video. Love the use of 720p50 conformed to 24fps for true slow-motion. I think that works very well against the music.
I used the Panasonic Lumix 20mm f1.7 lens along with a newly-acquired manual focus Asahi Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 (built somewhere between 1976-1984).
The movie is my first proper attempt at grading using Magic Bullet Mojo (I can't afford Looks!).

Someone recently asked me about #paleo and #bulletproofcoffee... the answer is YES! Here's how I like it: 8oz of hot #coffee (I like @Starbucks House Blend via my @Keurig), 1 tbsp #Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter (unsalted), and 1 tbsp Nutiva Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. Throw it all in my #MagicBullet blender for 15-20 secs or until it has a smooth froth on top. Pour and enjoy! Grass-fed butter really matters because corn or soy-fed cows don’t make butter with the same fats. Those butters don’t blend well, don’t taste good, and don’t make you feel #Bulletproof! #Protip: Pre heat your blender bottle to stop things cooling down. ift.tt/1ji8ezv
