باز آفرینی نگاره اشکانی از آیین مغان بر جای مانده در کنیسه دورا
در این نگاره دو مغ با پای برهنه در نیایشند. هر دو تنپوش آیینی سپید بر تن دارند، کُستیک یا کُشتی به کمر بسته و کلاهی بلند بر سر دارند. هر دو با دست راست دانه های خوشبو مانند اسپند و کندر در اسپندان میریزند. مغان دوری(بشقاب)، تنگ و کاسه در دست دارند. شاید چیز سه گوش باد بزن باشد یا چیز دیگر. مردی که در سمت چپ ایستاده و کلاه مهری میترای بر سر دارد چیز ناو ریخت (شکل)در دست راست، چیز زنگوله مانند در دست چپ دارد که شاید ابزار خنیا باشد. زن که با پوشش ایستاده ( دستار و چادر) به زیور ها آراسته است. با دست راست درود میگوید ( گفته میشود دستی که در این ریخت نگه داشته میشود نشانه نیروی بی پایان هستی یا همان پنج آتش سپنتا(مقدس) است، نیروهای پنج گانه مزدایی که هر انگشت یکی از آن نیرو ها را نمایندگی میکند یکم دایانا، دوم بَاوده، سوم فَروَشی، چهارم اَهو، پنجم اوروان). در کنار زن چهار مرد که با تن پوشهای دستکم یکسان ایستاده اند به همان ریخت با دست راست درود میفرستند. هر یک از ایشان شاخه در دست چپ دارند که می بایست برگ همیشه سبز درخت مورد باشد. در پایین ایوان سه کودک یا نوجوان و شاید به گفته حافظ مغ بچه (رهروان شهر نخست از هفت شهر)، به خویشکاری سرگرم هستند(مشغولند). دو تن با دست راست درود میگویند پسر سوی راست ریسه یا چنبره(حلقه) مهر دارد پن(اما) پسر سوی چپ ساقیست، تنگی به دست گرفته. دخترک چون بزرگ تر ها تنپوشی بسیار بالنده (فاخر)در بر کرده و زیور ها بر گردن آویخته است. پشت سر آنها ساختمانی است با ستون ها. دیوار پس زمینه پر است از تاگچه های (تاقچه)پرشمار. (دورا-اروپوس یک شهر مرزی میان شاهنشاهی اشکانی و امپراتوری روم بود. جایگاه کنونی آن دهکده صالحیه در سوریه در نزدیکی مرز با اراک(عراق)است.در«دورااروپوس»دیوارنوشته های پرشماری به زبان پهلوی می باشد. این دیوارنوشته ها برای سده ی سوم زایش (میلادی)و در پیوند با فرستادگان ویژه ی شاهنشاه شاپور بزرگ(روان ایشان شاد) (۲۴۰-۲۷۰زایش) است که از اروپوس بازدید کردند. کیش همه ی مردم سوریه باستان کیش و دین زردشتی بوده است.

The Roman Catholic church of St Charles in Gosforth was built in 1911 (replacing an earlier iron-built structure) and is a handsome building with two small west steeples flanking the main facade and a wide cruciform body culminating in a shallow apse. The interior is partially enlivened by marble-cladding, particularly around the sanctuary.
The outstanding features here however are in glass, principally the two large windows that dominate the north and south transepts, the largest windows in the church and both filled with gloriously rich stained glass by Harry Clarke Studios of Dublin and installed in 1945 (long after the death of Clarke himself and most likely designed by his successor Richard King). The south window depicts the Nativity, whilst that to the north represents the Deposition, with Christ's body being removed from the Cross. There is a further window by the same studio in the south nave clerestorey depicting Christ before Pilate, somewhat smaller and sadly less accessible.
This is a thoroughly rewarding church to visit for lovers of stained glass, though it is best to check with the church about access as it isn't always open outside mass times.
